Senior Proposal Marketing Associate, Power & Energy

Atwell is looking for a Senior Proposal Marketing Associate to support our growing Power & Energy practice, with a primary focus on supporting teams and pursuits operating across the Central and Eastern time zones.

This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced AEC marketing professional who knows how to take ownership of complex pursuits and partner closely with business leaders throughout the proposal process. You’ll support work across electric utilities, transmission and distribution, substations, generation, and renewable energy — helping our teams develop thoughtful pursuit strategies and compelling proposals that position Atwell to win.

This role goes beyond coordinating proposal deadlines. We’re looking for someone who can understand the opportunity, ask the right questions, shape the story, and guide a pursuit from early positioning through final delivery. Because of the teams this position supports, candidates should be comfortable aligning their working hours with Central and Eastern time zones.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development of strategic proposals, SOQs, RFQs, RFPs, and presentations for Power & Energy pursuits.
• Own proposal strategy and execution for complex and high-priority opportunities.
• Partner with Power & Energy leaders, project managers, and business development teams to develop pursuit strategies, win themes, value propositions, and client-focused messaging.
• Facilitate go/no-go conversations, proposal kickoffs, strategy meetings, and executive-level reviews.
• Support capture planning and competitive positioning for key pursuits.
• Develop and refine technical narratives related to electric utilities, transmission, substations, generation, T&D programs, and renewable energy projects.
• Translate technical information into clear, compelling proposal content.
• Manage multiple concurrent pursuits while keeping teams aligned on deadlines, responsibilities, and deliverables.
• Maintain a high standard of quality, compliance, consistency, and brand alignment across client-facing materials.
• Support interview preparation and presentation strategy for shortlisted pursuits.
• Mentor and provide guidance to Proposal Marketing Associates while helping strengthen proposal processes and best practices.
• Maintain Power & Energy proposal resources, including resumes, project information, and sector-specific content.
• Stay informed on Power & Energy market trends and use that knowledge to strengthen pursuit positioning.
• Support additional sector marketing initiatives, including conferences, sponsorships, and award submissions.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who brings both strong proposal execution skills and the ability to think strategically about how an AEC firm positions itself to win work.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

• 10+ years of AEC marketing, proposal, or pursuit experience.
• Experience supporting Power & Energy, electric utility, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, or related infrastructure markets.
• A strong track record leading complex SOQs, RFQs, and RFP responses.
• Experience supporting pursuits ranging from mid-sized contracts to large, multi-million-dollar programs.
• An understanding of capture planning, competitive positioning, win themes, and client-focused proposal strategy.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, particularly when working with technical subject matter.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe InDesign; experience with Illustrator and Photoshop is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• The ability to manage multiple complex pursuits independently and keep cross-functional teams moving toward deadlines.
• Experience working directly with senior leaders, technical professionals, and business development teams.
• A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, Business, or a related field.

AEC industry experience is required. Direct experience within Power & Energy is strongly preferred.
