AI Summary

Define the product vision and strategy for Azure Change Management to ensure safe, scalable, and reliable configuration changes across the platform. Lead cross-functional teams to drive standardization, automate deployment processes, and leverage AI to improve operational efficiency and service reliability.

Overview

Azure Core is at the forefront of innovation for Microsoft’s Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI) mission. We are responsible for designing and building the foundational primitives, platforms, hardware and services that power the current and next generation of applications including Generative AI. Our work expands the Azure Cloud (AI Regions, Region Expansions, New Clouds, Change Management Safety), scales out new hardware product introduction, enables the safe, scalable, and efficient evolution of Azure and improves the foundations of platform quality for every developer and enterprise.

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager with a bias for action to design developer tools and platforms that help accelerate Change Management efforts, with focus on driving safe changes into production across complex, large-scale services. You will be working with a team of technical product managers and engineering leaders across Microsoft to drive ongoing innovation in this area, in order to meet increasing customer demands while improving engineering velocity. This role is central to Microsoft’s success. This is an opportunity to shape the future of cloud infrastructure at one of the world’s largest cloud providers. You will work across engineering, operations, and compliance teams to define strategy, drive innovation (including AI-powered capabilities), and deliver measurable impact on Azure’s business and customer trust.

As a Product Manager for Azure Change Management, you will shape the strategy and build the platform that enables Azure to manage change at massive fleet scale. You will drive standardization across services, simplify deployment & maintenance experience for developers and operators, and make changes safer, more reliable, and increasingly AI-powered. This role requires product thinking, technical depth, and the ability to influence across a complex ecosystem of Azure teams.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Define the product vision and strategy for Change Management across Azure, driving a consistent, scalable, and reliable approach to managing configurations across services and environments.
  • Drive configuration standardization across Azure, establishing common patterns, schemas, policies, and experiences that reduce fragmentation and operational complexity across diverse Azure services.
  • Build the next generation of Azure Change Management, partnering closely with engineering, architecture, security, reliability, and service teams to deliver a platform that enables safe, scalable, and automated configuration changes.
  • Solve complex customer and service-team problems across the deployment & maintenance lifecycle—from authoring and validation to deployment, monitoring, drift detection, rollback, and remediation.
  • Develop a platform strategy that enables Azure services to onboard easily while providing consistent capabilities for deployment validation, policy enforcement, health assessment, and safe change execution.
  • Leverage AI and agentic experiences to make experiences more intelligent—helping identify risks, recommend changes, automate remediation, and improve the safety of production changes.
  • Drive adoption across Azure, working with service teams and partner organizations to establish standards, accelerate onboarding, and ensure the platform delivers measurable value at scale.
  • Establish and manage product metrics that demonstrate improvements in configuration consistency, reliability, change safety, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across engineering, design, security, reliability, and Azure service teams, translating ambiguous and complex problems into clear priorities, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • Represent the product vision with senior leadership, communicating strategy, progress, tradeoffs, and business impact while influencing teams across organizational boundaries.
