Senior Platform Engineer (SRE), AI Solutions

Syntax's engineering teams are reorganizing into small pods of developers plus AI agents — a model that only holds up on a strong internal platform. This senior SRE-level role builds and runs that foundation — managed platforms, golden-path blueprints, and observability that let product pods ship fast and operate with confidence. You own reliability, with the software-development skill to support developers and design golden paths. Like our developers, you're all-in on AI — you believe a platform engineer gets production-quality IaC from agentic tools, and you want to lead the agentic deploy and operate stages of the SDLC.

Responsibilities:

· Build and operate Syntax's cloud-native developer platform (Kubernetes + CNCF) on AWS, Azure, or GCP.

· Design golden-path blueprints so product pods self-serve provisioning, CI/CD, deploy, and operations.

· Own the internal developer portal (e.g., Backstage) that surfaces paths, services, and docs.

· Run the observability/monitoring stack (Prometheus, Grafana) for the traceability to operate on-the-loop.

· Own reliability as an SRE: SLOs, incident response, performance, and toil-removing automation.

· Use agentic tools daily to produce production-quality IaC and push the agentic frontier in deploy and operate.

Qualifications:

· Deep cloud-native expertise: Kubernetes and hands-on experience across the CNCF landscape.

· Production experience on at least one hyperscaler — AWS, Azure, or GCP.

· SRE fundamentals: SLOs/SLIs, incident response, reliability, performance, and toil-reducing automation.

· Strong IaC (Terraform, Helm, GitOps) and enough software-development skill to support developers and design golden paths.

· Built or run a developer portal (Backstage) and observability (Prometheus, Grafana).

· Daily, fluent use of agentic coding tools to produce production-quality IaC.

Note: a platform / SRE role needing cloud-native depth and real software-development skill.

Plus:

· Contributed to CNCF or open-source platform/observability projects.

· Agentic deploy/operate — self-healing, auto-remediation, or AI-assisted incident response.

· Multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), policy-as-code, supply-chain security (SBOMs); GitLab CI
