Senior Platform Engineer

The Enterprise Monitoring Team is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with strong experience in network device monitoring, including availability and performance management. In this role, you will work within a team of five engineers, with a primary focus on monitoring network devices. You will collaborate closely with the Network Engineering team to ensure accurate and effective monitoring coverage across the environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the onboarding and offboarding of network devices within monitoring platforms
• Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and performance metrics
• Partner with the Network Engineering team to optimize monitoring strategies and visibility
• Support and enhance enterprise monitoring solutions

Qualifications

• Proven experience with network device monitoring including availability and performance
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Experience with Broadcom NetOps and Splunk is a plus

Additional Details

• This is a remote position with occasional travel to the office approximately 4 to 6 times per year.
• On-call rotation is required; each rotation lasts approximately 2 weeks, and there are approximately 5 rotations per year. 
• Travel to our Chattanooga, Tennessee headquarters will be required for final interview(s).

Job Responsibilities

• Certify multiple hardware platforms and the interrelationship/interoperability of different operating systems and complex environments.
• Provide technical leadership and responsibility for the installation and certification of all supporting software and hardware in order to assure a sound deployment basis for production implementations.
• Developing data architecture to support both the production system, and the backend data science and modeling tools.
• Recommends/designs structures and tools for systems which meet business needs and takes into account target environment, performance security requirements and existing systems.
• Must be willing to adjust schedule to perform maintenance and upgrades outside of business hours and be part of an on-call rotation.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or a related field or equivalent years of experience is required.  Equivalent years of experience are defined as 4 years of professional experience.

Experience

• 5 years - Experience in Information Technology required.     
• 1 year - Experience in IT engineering in an enterprise environment.

Skills/Certifications

• Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies including infrastructure services, platform technologies and monitoring tools.
• Systematic, fact based decision making and problem solving.
• Strong inter-personal skills and ability to cultivate relationships with all internal/external stakeholders, promoting diversity of perspectives, ideas and cultures.
• Exceptional work ethic, high sense of urgency, driven, self-motivated, highly accountable with strong initiative and passion.
