What you will do:
- Lead the design and evolution of secure, scalable, and resilient multi-cloud enterprise environments supporting classified and mission-critical operations.
- Support the transition of existing enterprise services into an Operational Network (ON) environment that introduces cloud-like capabilities through standardized Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Client Provisioning Services (including Campus LAN and Desktop Services), and Enterprise Core Services (including Identity Management, Email, and Instant Communication).
- Architect and mature on-premise environments with cloud features, while establishing a roadmap toward more scalable, interoperable, and innovation-aligned cloud architectures.
- Drive enterprise cloud modernization efforts, transforming legacy systems and isolated network instances into unified, interoperable environments that improve collaboration and data exchange at both the network and application levels.
- Design private and hybrid-cloud environments using modular, automated, and service-based infrastructure models to address current limitations in elasticity, resiliency, and scalability.
- Develop solutions that improve rapid elasticity to support high-compute and data-intensive workloads, including emerging AI and data-centric services.
- Enhance infrastructure resiliency and survivability to better align with enterprise business continuity requirements and support high-availability operations.
- Establish automated, scalable “As-a-Service” cloud delivery models to improve agility, operational efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
- Improve enterprise-wide collaboration by addressing fragmented network architectures and enabling centralized governance and management.
- Design and implement enhanced financial operations (FinOps) practices to improve transparency into service consumption, cost drivers, and resource optimization.
- Provide strategic advisory support to executive stakeholders, translating mission and operational requirements into technical roadmaps, governance models, and phased transformation strategies.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams across architecture, engineering, cybersecurity, enterprise services, and operations.
- Manage program milestones, risks, schedules, and vendor coordination in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
- Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings on architecture strategy, transformation progress, risk posture, and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security, governance, interoperability, and regulatory standards.
What you will bring:
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT, cloud architecture, infrastructure modernization, or large-scale digital transformation.
- Proven experience designing and implementing multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, private cloud, on-prem with cloud integration).
- Strong understanding of IaaS platforms, enterprise core services (identity, messaging, collaboration), client provisioning, and large-scale networked environments.
- Demonstrated experience addressing scalability, resiliency, and interoperability challenges in complex, distributed infrastructures.
- Experience modernizing environments with limited elasticity and transitioning toward more flexible, innovative-aligned cloud models.
- Experience operating at a consultant or advisory level with senior executives and technical leadership.
- Strong expertise in cloud security, zero-trust principles, identity and access management, automation, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, containerization (e.g., Kubernetes), and scalable service-based architectures.
- Understanding of financial operations management (FinOps) principles in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Experience working in high-security or regulated environments supporting classified systems.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance.
- US. Citizenship required.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline (experience may be considered in lieu of formal education).
- Cloud architect-level certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) and PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent program management certifications are preferred.
- Self-motivated with the ability to operate independently while leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and stakeholder engagement skills.
