Senior Maritime Training Specialist Engineering

We are seeking a Senior Marine Engineering Profesional to evaluate technical training curricula. Use your shipboard experience to assess engineering instruction, supporting materials, and competency assessments.

Location: Position is remote within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

• Review engineering course content, learning objectives, assessments, instructor qualifications, and training-site documentation.
• Evaluate alignment with applicable maritime regulations, policy, and industry practice.
• Develop written findings and recommended corrections for Government review.
• Address technical review comments and maintain accurate records while meeting quality and workload expectations.

Required Qualifications

• Hold or have held a U.S. Coast Guard-issued Merchant Mariner Credential endorsed as Chief Engineer or First Assistant Engineer of vessels of any horsepower for Motor (Diesel), Steam, or Gas Turbine propulsion.
• At least five years of experience sailing on the qualifying credential.
• Ability to assess marine engineering training materials and communicate technical findings in clear written English.
• Availability for an initial two-week onsite orientation in West Virginia and additional onsite training as required.
• Ability to coordinate during Eastern Time business hours and work effectively from a remote location.
• Ability to meet applicable customer screening, facility access, information protection, and system access requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple propulsion modes.
• Experience writing, developing, teaching, or evaluating maritime training courses.
