Summary:
The ASPCA is seeking a talented, highly organized, and motivated individual to provide top-notch administrative and logistical management for seventeen veterinary professional training programs across the organization. The Veterinary Training Initiative (VTI) includes externships in multiple disciplines and locations for third-and fourth-year veterinary students, second-year veterinary technician students and post-doctoral internship, fellowship, and residency programs. The Sr. Manager plays a critical role in promoting and implementing streamlined and efficient communication among and between programs, veterinary schools, and students before, during and after each program to ensure each student is supported throughout their time with the ASPCA. The Sr. Manager works closely with each program to understand content and the student selection process, enabling consistent communication with veterinary students, veterinary schools, and internal program subject-matter The Sr. Manager plays an essential role in identifying and managing projects in support of individual programs and/or larger initiatives. The Sr. Manager must be extremely organized, flexible, proactive, warm, resourceful, and efficient with excellent communication skills and sound judgment. This individual serves as ambassador and primary point of contact for veterinary schools and trainees, streamlining and centralizing administration, communications, and data tracking, and ensuring that the ASPCA continues to be a leader in training veterinary professionals.

Who We Are
The ASPCA employs hundreds of veterinarians and veterinary technicians, and we're committed to growing and sustaining veterinary professionals in shelter and community medicine. The Veterinary Training Initiative (VTI) is a program within Shelter Medicine Services in the larger Veterinary Medicine vertical. In addition to VTI, the ASPCA has multiple points of contact with veterinary trainees and institutions through other programs, such the ASPCA Scholarship program, the annual Shelter Medicine Conference, a rotating Community-Centered Medicine course at veterinary schools, virtual and onsite lectures by ASPCA veterinarians and technicians, and many virtual training opportunities.
What You’ll Do
The Sr. Manager promotes and manages educational opportunities for training veterinary professionals. They establish and maintain relationships with ASPCA training program leadership and administrators, building deep knowledge of individual programs to support trainee experiences across the organization. They work with schools, students, and program coordinators to ensure each participant has what they need throughout their time with the ASPCA. The Sr. Manager manages administrative, organizational, and communication aspects of training programs, including rounds, journal clubs, conferences, and ad hoc lectures. Most importantly, they are deeply invested in leveraging opportunities to grow and enrich veterinary professional training across the organization and in the field and are able to work remotely in a home office while maintaining strong connections with collaborators.
The Sr. Manager reports directly to the VP, Shelter Medicine Services and Veterinary Training Programs (VP) and has no direct reports.
Where and When You’ll Work
This remote-based position is open to all eligible candidates based within the United States, although proximity to ASPCA New York City locations is preferred.
Typical work hours are Monday through Friday, with some weekend or evening hours required for special events. Ability and willingness to travel up to 15% to ASPCA locations as well as to support programs at conferences and veterinary schools is required.

The target hiring range is based on where the employee works, which for remote roles is the employee’s primary location of residence, and its respective cost of labor. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to education, training, experience, location, business needs, internal equity, market demands or budgeted amount for the role. The target hiring range is for new hire offers only, and compensation may increase beyond the maximum hiring range based on performance over time. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. The expected hiring salary ranges for this role are set forth below and may be modified in the future.
Zone 1: $75,000 - $79,000 annually
Zone 2: $82,000 - $87,000 annually
Zone 3: $90,000 - $95,000 annually
