About the Role
To serve as part of the Total Rewards "Centre of Expertise" Team operating as a consultant to business HR teams in all matters of Total Rewards. Leader of the local strategy for Total Rewards, ensuring appropriate interface between the Corporate Total Rewards Strategy and the local HR Business Partners and ensuring reward compliance in the region Benelux & Nordics.
Goals and Objectives:
- To actively support overall achievement of the business plan through tactical and strategic compensation & reward interventions, in particular focused on attraction and retention of key talent and growth areas.
- To develop our position in the market as an “employer of choice” by regular benchmarking of salaries, variable pay and benefit spend versus the market.
- Manage the benefits portfolio for ~1000 employees.
- Ensure all reward initiatives are compliant with relevant legislation to minimise risk of litigation for the company.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Design and develop the region’s reward strategy to achieve business goals and objectives and to position Carrier as an ‘Employer of Choice’ (specifically looking at talent attraction and retention, performance, employee wellbeing, employer branding and engagement) within the framework of Carrier Corporate’s global compensation and reward policies.
- Act as a knowledge source on all aspects of compensation and reward.
- Develop innovative cost-effective approaches to improve and enhance employee reward.
- Manage reward focused projects within given project budget and working with all stakeholders to implement. Some of these may involve work to support the wider European region.
- Develop pay and reward strategies for varying groups within the business using benchmarking and market analysis to ensure alignment to our chosen market position and appropriate competitiveness.
- Identify and develop solutions to maximize opportunities for harmonization of benefits across the region, working with suppliers and negotiating competitive terms and pricing
- Support HR Leaders in developing targeted pay strategies including pay structures and the annual compensation planning cycle.
- Support HR Leaders in the management of incentive schemes, providing tools and guidance and seeking opportunities for businesses to harmonize and streamline.
- Provide advice and recommendations/solutions to customer base to ensure consistency and to manage target populations.
- Lead on all Reward communications for the region, including branding to support awareness and engagement of all reward elements.
- To support managers through advising on cross borders and expatriate reward cases in the region; and to become a source of guidance for the organization on company policy and its relation to country legislative requirements (tax, immigration, social security).
- To lead negotiations and manage relationships with providers either directly or via brokers to gain best possible pricing and contract terms.
- Support the achievement of Carrier’s ESG goals within the region, via supporting reward tools and policies.
- Enhance and strengthen the Company’s wellbeing strategy for both financial and health support.
- To encourage and enable strong team support and harmonized service delivery between the Total Reward COE, the HRBPs and the operational HR teams to ensure a cohesive approach for customers.
- Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures. To be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures, Ethics & Compliance standards and requirements and International Trade Compliance (ITC).
Qualifications/ Experience/Knowledge:
- Prior experience in compensation and reward positions operating on a multi-country basis
- Proven ability in:
- Identifying and implementing strategic change requirements and compensation & reward solutions in a fast-paced, competitive environment
- Operating as a center of expertise in a Shared Service environment
- Large International companies
- Able to deal with conflicting priorities from internal stakeholders, demonstrating resilience and strong influencing skills to manage these effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English along with good presentation skills
- Analytical and numerate
- Strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge of HR processes and procedures in Benelux region
- Ability to adapt and learn
- Strong knowledge of MS Office applications, specifically Excel
- Ability to travel within the region and wider European area as required
- Ability to self-motivate, prioritize and maintain focus in shifting priority environment.
