Senior Manager, Digital Engineering

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will bring strong technical leadership and hands-on engineering experience to help clients design and deliver enterprise digital platforms. 

With a background in software development and a passion for technology, you will lead the delivery of high-quality, well-engineered solutions for complex client environments. You will mentor developers, guide engineering practices, and help our teams adopt modern, reliable approaches to software delivery, including trusted and consistent use of AI-accelerated engineering tools and workflows. While you may have deeper expertise in one area, you will be comfortable leading teams across digital technologies such as custom web front ends (for example React, Next.js and Vue.js), mobile applications, APIs, content management platforms such as Adobe and Sitecore, commerce platforms and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Knowledge of related capabilities such as identity, search and integration platforms will also be valuable.

In this role, you will act as a senior technical leader on enterprise implementation projects, working with technical and non-technical client stakeholders to shape practical solutions, make sound engineering decisions and support successful delivery.

Along with the experience and energy you bring to the team, you'll be responsible for:

• Working with senior business, product, technology, security and vendor stakeholders to translate business outcomes into technical solutions that align to best practices
• Delivering large scale and complex digital implementations across different client industries, development teams and technologies.
• Managing and mentoring teams of developers and full stack technologists
• Supporting Project Managers to develop and manage project plans, scope, variations and technical risks
• Contributing your knowledge and experience to continuously improve how our technology team delivers software, including the practical uplift of AI-enabled engineering practices and workflows
• Contributing to business development through providing solution options and development estimates for potential future work
• Identifying and managing security, performance and operational considerations across the platforms and solutions you help deliver

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

We are looking for candidates with strong digital engineering experience and a track record of delivering enterprise technology outcomes. You do not need to have worked across every technology listed below; we are interested in people who can lead teams, make pragmatic technical decisions and continue learning as platforms and practices evolve.

• Significant experience across software engineering disciplines and digital technologies, typically gained over 10+ years
• Experience leading technical teams to deliver solutions using agile, hybrid or waterfall delivery approaches
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with business, product, technology and non-technical stakeholders
• Proven technology leadership across enterprise digital platforms such as web applications and portals, APIs, content management, commerce and systems integration
• A desire to contribute to the broader success of the technology team through mentoring, coaching and sharing practical experience

VALUABLE EXPERIENCE

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud; exposure to Kubernetes is highly regarded
• Understanding of modern DevOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, test automation and code quality or scanning tools
• Interest in, or experience with, AI-accelerated engineering patterns and responsible adoption of AI-enabled software delivery practices
• Exposure to related capabilities such as identity, search, integration platforms, commerce platforms or enterprise content management platforms
