Job Description

The Senior Lighting Artist is responsible for delivering high-quality lighting, renders, AOVs, and slap comps for feature film and episodic VFX productions. This role focuses on complex shot work, technical leadership, workflow improvements, and mentoring team members.

Working closely with Compositing, Look Development, FX, Environment, Production, and Lighting teams across multiple locations, the Senior Lighting Artist ensures work consistently meets creative, technical, and production requirements.

Responsibilities

• Light and render complex hero shots and sequences.
• Create look development when required.
• Troubleshoot technical lighting and rendering challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality imagery.
• Improve workflows and develop tools using Python, OpScript, or MEL.
• Mentor team members and help establish lighting best practices.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in professional VFX lighting for feature film or episodic productions.
• Expert knowledge of Katana and Arnold.
• Strong understanding of ACES colour management and modern rendering pipelines.
• Experience with Python, OpScript, or MEL.
• Unreal Engine experience is an asset.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
