Overview:

 

The Senior IT COLI/BOLI Business Analyst will support our corporate owned or bank owned life insurance segment. The ideal candidate will partner with Software Engineers leading the IT application development efforts and serve as a key thought partner for system enhancement rollouts. Additionally, the Sr. Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between the business customer and the technical resources. Their focus will be on ensuring solution design achieves the COLI business objectives. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid in-office arrangement out of our office location in Hartford, CT. Remote work arrangements will also be considered.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Owns and oversees all aspects of requirement documentation including writing, reviewing, analyzing, and verifying requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards
  • Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and develops strategies for enhancing these processes
  • Responsible for documenting and driving the overall test strategy including review and signoff
  • Continuously drive improvements in analysts’ processes, tools, and techniques incorporating industry best practices
  • Enforces adherence to the Talcott software development lifecycle and security policies
  • Acts as mentor to coach and develop junior talent
  • Write business requirements for enhancements to existing applications
  • Perform system testing following an enhancement rollout
  • Offer pro-active issue resolution and creative solutions to navigate administrative challenges and system roadblocks

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of life insurance experience which will include at least 3 years of technical expertise
  • Candidates will COLI/BOLI experience is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience (preferred degree majors include IT, engineering, mathematics and/or statistical analysis)
  • Strong working knowledge of the MS Office tools, experience with SQL or Java is a plus!
  • Experience with software testing tools (i.e. Beyond Compare) is a plus!
  • Ability to work independently and/or collaborate with cross-functional team members outside
  • Demonstrated business savvy with a strategic focus for problem solving
  • Effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive business relationships across the organization
  • A self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to handle a high volume of matters while balancing competing demands
  • Willingness to take initiative, lead projects and drive projects to through to completion

*NOTE-This position may require 10% travel and a rotational “on-call after-hours work schedule” 1x monthly for the week in support production items.
