Senior IT, Business Analyst (contract)

About the Role  

Sound Physicians is seeking experienced Senior IT Business Analysts to support strategic enterprise transformation initiatives that improve how we operate, scale, and serve our healthcare partners. These roles will serve as a critical link between business stakeholders, technology teams, and implementation partners, helping translate business needs into effective, sustainable solutions through requirements gathering, process analysis, data validation, testing, and implementation support.  

We are hiring for two Senior IT Business Analyst opportunities. While the core responsibilities are similar, each role supports a different business transformation effort. Candidates with experience supporting Contract Lifecycle Management implementations or Payroll Transformation initiatives are especially encouraged to apply.

The Details: These are full-time, remote contract positions anticipated to last at minimum 6 months with possible extension. Contract duration may be extended or adjusted based on business needs and project requirements. 

What You'll Do  

• Partner with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, vendors, and technical teams to define business and system requirements  

• Analyze current-state processes and identify future-state improvements  

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops  

• Create business requirements, process maps, user stories, data mappings, and supporting documentation  

• Analyze and validate data to support implementation activities  

• Document integrations, dependencies, and business rules  

• Support system configuration and solution design discussions  

• Develop test scenarios, test cases, and validation plans  

• Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities  

• Track, prioritize, and support defect resolution efforts  

• Assist with data migration and reconciliation activities  

• Develop implementation documentation, training materials, and operational support resources  

• Collaborate across functional teams to drive successful project delivery  

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience. 

• 6+ years of experience in a business analyst, data analyst, or related role involving hands-on data analysis and requirements definition. 

• Experience supporting enterprise system implementations and working with third-party vendors. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. 

• Experience with data mapping, validation, reconciliation, and system integrations. 

• Experience coordinating testing, including UAT, defect triage, and validation activities. 

1. Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Role

This role will support the implementation of a new enterprise Contract Lifecycle Management platform. The analyst will partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to document requirements, streamline workflows, improve visibility into contract processes, and support system implementation and adoption.  

Experience that will help you succeed in this role includes:  

• Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems  

• Business process redesign and workflow optimization  

• Process standardization initiatives  

• Vendor-led software implementations  

• Contract, legal operations, procurement, or compliance processes  

• Requirements gathering and stakeholder facilitation  

• Organizational change and solution adoption  

2. Payroll Transformation Role

This role will support a large-scale payroll transformation initiative focused on improving payroll processes, data quality, controls, and supporting technology. The analyst will work closely with Payroll, Human Resources, Finance, and Technology teams to ensure accurate data migration, testing, reconciliation, and implementation success.  

Experience that will help you succeed in this role includes:  

• Payroll system implementations  

• Payroll and compensation processes  

• Human Capital Management (HCM) systems  

• Data validation and reconciliation  

• Payroll controls and audit requirements  

• Advanced Excel and SQL analysis  

• Parallel testing and defect management  

Additional preferred or role-specific qualifications: 

• CLM Position: Experience with contract lifecycle management, workflow redesign, process standardization, and enterprise software implementations. 

• Payroll Position: Experience with payroll, compensation, HCM, or healthcare payroll processes; advanced SQL and Excel skills; SOX or other audit-controlled processes; and payroll certification (FPC or CPP) is a plus. 

• Business analysis certification (CBAP or PMI-PBA) is a plus.
