Position Summary:  The Senior Global Advocacy Officer (SGAO) is a senior advocacy leadership role within Fòs Feminista’s Global Advocacy for Change Unit, responsible for advancing advocacy at national, regional, and global levels, with a primary focus on regional multilateral spaces in the Asia and Pacific region.
Reporting to the Associate Director – Global Advocacy & Policy Research, the SGAO serves as a strategic focal point for designing, implementing, and coordinating advocacy strategies that link regional and global political processes to advance sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice (SRHRJ). The role also serves as the organizational lead for anti-rights and anti-gender mitigation, providing political analysis, strategic coordination, and movement accompaniment to counter organized opposition to SRHRJ.
Grounded in feminist, decolonial, and intersectional frameworks, the SGAO ensures that advocacy strategies are informed by regional realities, movement leadership, and Global South perspectives, while contributing to Fòs Feminista’s broader global advocacy priorities.
Reporting Relationship:  The Senior Global Advocacy Officer reports to the Associate Director – Global Advocacy & Policy Research and works in close coordination with the Chief Global Advocacy Officer on Anti-right and Anti-gender mitigation, and other Senior and/or Global Advocacy Officers.


1. Anti-Rights and Anti-Gender Mitigation Programming Leadership
•    Serve as Fòs Feminista’s lead focal point on anti-rights and anti-gender mitigation, providing strategic direction and coordination across Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, and Africa in collaboration with the Chief Global Advocacy Officer. 
•    Monitor, analyze, and synthesize trends, narratives, and organizing tactics of anti-rights movements at national, regional, and global levels.
•    Serve as Fos Feminista’s representative in feminist coalition anti-rights and anti-gender working groups, including the WRC Opposition working group.
•    Support the implementation of anti-rights and anti-gender mitigation strategy for UN process in collaboration with other feminist organizations and coalitions. 
•    Translate political intelligence on anti-rights activity into clear advocacy strategies, risk mitigation approaches, and narrative interventions.
•    Lead the design and implementation of narrative change strategies and campaigns (#ForAllFamilies and #ParentsforCSE) that advance feminist positions on SRHRJ and counter regressive discourse at national and regional levels. 

2. Knowledge Production and Thought Leadership Anti-Rights and Anti-Gender movements
•    Produce and contribute to knowledge on anti-rights and anti-gender movements, including their impacts on regional and global SRHRJ policy spaces.
•    Support the development of advocacy briefs, toolkits, lessons learnt, webinars, and strategic analyses that strengthen movement responses to anti-rights influence.
•    Contribute anti-rights analysis to organizational positioning, advocacy strategies, and public-facing thought leadership, in collaboration with Communications and policy research colleagues.

3. Representation, Relationship Building, and Influence 
•    Lead the implementation of Fòs Feminista’s Asia and Pacific regional advocacy workplan, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and advocacy priorities at national, regional, and global levels.
•    Represent Fòs Feminista in regional multilateral, political, and advocacy forums, including ASEAN and its human rights mechanisms, UN ESCAP, the Pacific Islands Forum, and regional mechanisms, serving as a credible and strategic feminist voice.
•    Build, maintain, and strategically expand relationships with regional institutions, Member State representatives, UN agencies, and intergovernmental bodies relevant to SRHRJ at the regional levels and the global level.
•    Coordinate formal and informal advocacy engagements, including bilateral meetings, dialogues, and regional convenings, to influence policy positions and increase the visibility of feminist priorities.
•    Facilitate meaningful participation of regional partners in selected regional and global multilateral spaces (e.g., CSW, CPD, HLPF), including preparation, briefing, and follow-up.
•    Lead Fòs Feminista’s day-to-day engagement in key feminist and civil society coalitions, particularly within regional spaces including but not limited to Asia-Pacific SRHR coalitions and feminist networks and Asia-Pacific civil society forums linked to UN processes.  
•    In collaboration with Asia and the Pacific regional Alliance partners, coordinate and actively participate in regional coalition meetings, working groups, and joint actions, ensuring Fòs Feminista’s priorities and political analysis are well represented.
•    Support relationship-building with feminist organizations and networks engaged at the Asia and Pacific region with a focus on inclusive and movement-led collaboration.
4. Movement Building, Regional Accompaniment, and Capacity Strengthening
•    Provide strategic accompaniment to regional Alliance members and other allies in the Asia and Pacific region, to strengthen advocacy at national and regional levels.
•    Promote South–South learning and collaboration through regional briefings, exchanges, and joint advocacy efforts amongst Asia and the Pacific partners.
•    Working with Asia and the Pacific partners, develop and implement a regional advocacy plan to foster greater collaboration, connection, and coordination as an alliance. 
•    Lead and support capacity-strengthening initiatives focused on narrative change, and anti-rights mitigation.
•    Support partners to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to anti-rights activity in their political contexts
•    Serve as the primary liaison for the Center for Transformative Narratives, coordinating capacity-building, knowledge exchange, and strategic alignment on narrative change and anti-rights mitigation.
5. Partnership Engagement and Coordination – Asia & Pacific
•    Serve as the primary partnership focal point for Alliance members and partners in the Asia and Pacific region, maintaining regular communication to understand partner priorities, emerging challenges, and opportunities for engagement beyond advocacy initiatives.
•    Track partner activities, progress, and needs, and prepare regular briefing notes and reports for the Partnership Cluster to strengthen coordination, improve alignment with the Alliance’s regional strategy, and enhance partner engagement and commitment.
•    Contribute to the preparation of grantmaking justification memos and related documentation to support the provision of core resources to partners, ensuring that funding decisions reflect partners’ priorities, capacities, and strategic alignment with Alliance objectives.
6. Organizational Functions and Management
•    Manage interns and/or consultants, ensuring effective delivery of anti-rights and anti-gender mitigation priorities. 
•    Coordinate advocacy planning, implementation, and tracking to ensure alignment with workplans, political priorities, and timelines.
•    Work closely with other Senior Global Advocacy Officers and Associate Directors to ensure coherence across regional and global advocacy portfolios.
•    Lead the Comms working group to ensure consistent and timely sharing of the Unit’s activities internally and within the alliance, this includes preparing quarterly advocacy round ups and regular planning/collaboration with the Communications team. 
•    Lead resource mobilization for Anti-rights and Anti-gender area, including identifying funding opportunities, supporting proposal development, and articulating advocacy outcomes and learning in collaboration with the Chief Global Advocacy Officer and Development team.
•    Oversee donor reporting related to Anti-rights and Anti-gender area in in collaboration with the Chief Global Advocacy Officer and Development team.
•    Provide oversight of 1-2 advocacy-related budgets, including tracking, forecasting, and alignment with workplans and donor agreements, working closely with Finance to ensure responsible financial management and compliance.
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with Communications, policy research, and regional focal points to strengthen advocacy effectiveness and visibility.
•    Ensure accurate documentation of activities, partnerships, and outcomes in internal systems to support accountability and institutional learning in coordination with the Business Intelligence, Evaluation, and Research unit. 
•    Contribute to a feminist team culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, care, and shared political analysis.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
•    Excellent writing and communications skills and fluent English essential. Proficiency in Spanish and other languages (notably French or Portuguese) is desirable. 
•    Outstanding oral and written communication skills and ability to write policy documents and analysis for a general audience. 
•    Demonstrated and strong skills in policy analysis and independent thinking. 
•    Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, manage competing demands, and maintain a positive attitude. 
•    Broad working knowledge of and commitment to women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, social justice, HIV and AIDS, non-discrimination, and human rights. 
•    Ability to speAak and write about intersectional and decolonial feminisms, global policies, and sexual and reproductive justice for a general audience. 
•    Demonstrated commitment to anti-racism and challenging other forms of oppression, including to a process of self-reflection and transformation around implicit bias. 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, including diplomacy and discretion, and the ability to network and communicate with stakeholders from different backgrounds, cultures, and contexts.  
•    Flexibility and willingness to work virtually with a diverse and multicultural team.

Position Location
This role is expected to be based in, or have strong proximity to, the Asia and Pacific region, with flexibility to engage in regional travel and virtual coordination as required.
Compensation: Fòs Feminista offers generous compensation consistent with competitive salaries and a benefits package that includes private health coverage, life insurance, retirement benefits, paid sick, vacation leave and parental leave, holidays, and flexible working arrangements. The annual salary is USD 56,931.31 payable in local currency.
