Location: Remote
Senior Scientist PROSOFT is seeking 2 highly qualified scientists to support Customs and Border Protection, Laboratories and Scientific Services (CBP-LSS), to develop and enhance cross-border tunnel detection and interdiction efforts, focusing on identifying and mapping such threats to the national security of the United States. Experience in supporting, maintaining, or testing physics-based systems using geophysics, seismic data, acoustic monitoring, or ground-penetrating radar to map structural anomalies is highly desirable. Experience supporting, maintaining, or testing various motion-detecting systems and sensor arrays to pick up subsurface activity is also highly desirable.
Successful candidates should have experience supporting federal laboratory, research and development, test and evaluation, or technology transition programs, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to translate technical information into clear language for technical and non-technical audiences, and be experienced in the following areas:
• Laboratory operations support
• Scientific testing and test execution support
• Test and evaluation planning and reporting
• Data collection, review, analysis, and reporting
• Technical documentation, including standard operating procedures, test reports,
technical memoranda, white papers, briefings, and decision-support products
• Equipment calibration, maintenance, lifecycle documentation, inventory management,
and asset tracking
• Acquisition support, including requirements development, SOW/PWS inputs, technical
specifications, and evaluation criteria
• Program management support, including schedules, status reports, spend plan inputs,
briefings, action item trackers, and stakeholder meeting materials
• Systems engineering and technology transition support
• Support to data scientists, engineers, and analysts by reviewing scientific data, supporting data quality checks, interpreting analytic outputs, and contributing to reports, dashboards, and decision-support products
• Experience preparing SOPs, technical reports, test reports, briefings, or acquisition
related technical inputs
• Familiarity with data analysis, visualization, dashboard tools, GIS products, or
modeling and simulation outputs
• Experience with inventory management systems, government property controls,
logistics coordination, or equipment lifecycle management
• Understanding of systems engineering, requirements management, configuration
management, or test and evaluation processes
• Ability to support field demonstrations, operational assessments, or technology
deployment activities
Education/Experience:
Minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Scientific, or other technical disciplines and 8 years of experience.
Work will be performed in Washington, D.C. and Ashburn, Virginia, as well as remotely. A SECRET clearance is required.
