What we need 

Crafty Apes and our talented team members have received recognition for outstanding contributions to feature films, and we are looking for a talented Senior FX Artist to join our team in London. The perfect candidate is a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and embraces individuality and creativity. 

What you would do

• Collaborate with Supervisors and Production to create high-quality visual effects for assigned shows.
• Meet all project milestones, adhering to show schedules and production deadlines.
• Ensure all work integrates seamlessly within the company’s existing pipeline.
• Produce compelling look-tests based on provided reference materials and creative briefs.
• Exhibit problem-solving skills and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
•  Demonstrate strong communication skills, effectively taking direction and collaborating with team members and management.

What you need 

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience using Houdini for FX creation, including proficiency with relevant Houdini FX plugins.
• Knowledge of Embergen is a real plus!
• Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Arts, Fine Arts, or equivalent professional production experience.
• Solid understanding and practical experience in one or more of the following areas: Rigid body and particle dynamics, Volume modeling and rendering, Procedural geometry generation,Fluid dynamics 
• Strong foundational understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
•  Experience with other professional 3D software packages, such as 3ds Max or Maya, is a plus!
• Scripting proficiency is a plus!
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to take precise direction from show leads and supervisors.
