Senior Full Stack Web Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who combines strong hands-on development expertise with a passion for building scalable, modern SaaS products. In this role, you will contribute to core product capabilities, influence architecture and engineering standards, and help deliver innovative AI-enabled experiences for our customers. You will work across the application stack, partnering closely with engineering, product, and UX teams to develop high-quality solutions that are secure, scalable, and maintainable. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, mentoring others, and helping teams adopt modern development practices that improve both quality and delivery velocity.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality product features using modern web technologies and engineering best practices. 

• Design, build, and maintain both frontend and backend application components, APIs, and services. 

• Help define and evolve application architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards across the platform. 

• Contribute to the continued growth and evolution of a multi-tenant SaaS platform with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability. 

• Build and integrate AI-enabled features, workflows, and user experiences that provide meaningful value to customers. 

• Collaborate with technical leadership on system design, architectural decisions, and long-term platform strategy. 

• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and engineering initiatives that improve quality, testing, automation, and delivery processes. 

• Promote modern development practices, including AI-assisted development workflows, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

• Mentor and support fellow engineers through technical guidance, collaboration, and knowledge sharing. 

• Partner closely with Product, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver well-designed, customer-focused solutions. 

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical solutions that enhance product quality, developer productivity, and customer experience. 

Required Qualifications

Core Technical Strengths

• Strong experience building modern web applications using contemporary frontend frameworks and technologies. 

• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern software development practices. 

• Experience designing and developing APIs and backend services. 

• Experience working with cloud-based application environments and deployment pipelines. 

• Strong understanding of application architecture, software design patterns, and scalable engineering principles. 

• Experience working in collaborative development environments with source control, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD practices. 

AI-Enabled Product Development 

• Experience integrating AI services or AI-enabled capabilities into modern applications, or demonstrated ability to rapidly develop expertise in this area.

• Familiarity with LLMs and modern AI integration patterns.
• Familiarity with concepts such as RAG, vector search, tool use, and AI orchestration.
• Understanding of the reliability, security, privacy, governance, and user-experience considerations associated with AI-enabled applications.
• Interest in using AI-assisted development tools and workflows to improve engineering productivity.

Engineering Leadership & Architecture 

• Demonstrated ability to influence application architecture and engineering standards. 

• Experience designing scalable, maintainable solutions within SaaS environments. 

• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, security principles, and multi-tenant application patterns. 

• Ability to balance long-term technical excellence with pragmatic business and delivery goals. 

• Experience mentoring engineers and helping elevate team-wide development practices. 

Modern Web Engineering Knowledge 

• Strong understanding of component-based architecture and separation of concerns. 

• Experience building accessible, performant, and responsive web applications. 

• Familiarity with modern data-fetching, state management, routing, and application architecture patterns. 

• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows to improve productivity, quality, and consistency. 

• Familiarity with specification-driven development approaches, automation, and quality-focused engineering practices. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience working in SaaS or multi-tenant application environments. 

• Experience with cloud-native architectures and modern infrastructure platforms. 

• Experience shipping AI-enabled functionality in a production SaaS environment.
• Familiarity with data-intensive applications, analytics platforms, or business intelligence solutions. 

• Experience with design systems or reusable component libraries. 
• Exposure to AI platforms, intelligent workflows, or agent-based solutions.

• Limited travel. Generally fewer than five trips per year for in-person team, planning, or company meetings.
• This role is posted as remote, but it could be hybrid or in-office if that best fits your working style.
