Position: SENIOR FULL-STACK SOFTWARE ENGINEER (CHILDCARE SAAS PLATFORM)

Salary range: up to Php 120,000/month (The final amount will be at the the client discretion basing on the candidate’s skills and experience.)

Working Hours: Australia Business Hours (Monday–Friday 8am-5pm AEST ; 6am-3pm Philippine time)

Work set-up: 100% Remote work under Independent Contractor Agreement

Holidays: AU holidays

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern software engineering practices.
  • Translate business and user requirements into secure, efficient, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Develop backend services using PHP, Laravel, and other object-oriented development frameworks.
  • Build intuitive and responsive frontend applications using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and existing jQuery components where required.
  • Design and optimise complex PostgreSQL queries, reports, and high-volume data processing operations.
  • Develop and maintain features involving payment processing, billing workflows, reporting, and third-party system integrations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application code, databases, and Linux environments.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, software architecture, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing software solutions.
  • Support ongoing platform enhancements while ensuring system stability, security, and performance.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Strong commercial experience with PHP and frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony.
  • Advanced proficiency in PostgreSQL, SQL optimisation, and relational database design.
  • Experience building modern web applications using React and TypeScript.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and jQuery.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, software architecture, and design patterns.
  • Practical experience applying software engineering principles such as SOLID, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI.
  • Experience working in Linux environments, including server troubleshooting and log analysis.
  • Familiarity with Windows development environments.
  • Experience developing or supporting applications involving financial transactions, billing systems, or payment gateways.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within distributed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on enterprise SaaS platforms serving multiple customers or organisations.
  • Background in education technology, healthcare, finance, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience integrating with external APIs or government systems.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or similar cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience modernising large legacy applications while maintaining platform stability.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile software development practices.
