Your Mission at plancraft

As a Senior Financial Accountant RTR, your mission is to take ownership of our group accounting and help shape a scalable, increasingly agentic accounting setup for plancraft’s next stage of growth.

It’s an exciting time to join: we’re bringing more of our accounting in-house, expanding across Europe, and introducing a new accounting system. Together with the Finance team, you’ll turn this growth into a reliable accounting setup, owning the R2R fundamentals while shaping the processes, controls, and AI-enabled workflows behind them.

You’ll combine strong accounting ownership with a builder mindset: running a reliable close today while continuously improving how we work for tomorrow, making accounting faster, more automated, and ready to scale with plancraft.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own group accounting end to end across our growing European multi-entity setup and help bring additional accounting scope in-house as plancraft expands.

• Run the month-end close from calendar and task management through reconciliation and sign-off, working toward a reliable and increasingly efficient close as the group grows.

• Own the actuals and ensure our reported numbers are accurate, reconciled, and explainable at both entity and group level.

• Transition and scale accounting activities in-house and establish the processes and ownership needed to run them effectively.

• Manage multi-entity accounting topics including reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, statutory requirements, and VAT.

• Own our group accounting ledger and establish strong close-related controls.

• Manage local tax and compliance providers across markets, ensuring clear scopes, reliable deadlines, quality, and cost control.

• Partner with FP&A and FinOps to deliver reliable actuals, reconcile AP and AR subledgers, maintain coding rules, and resolve exceptions.

• Build the accounting playbook through practical processes and SOPs that create consistency as the group grows.

• Design for automation by identifying recurring accounting activities that can be standardized or automated and defining clear decision rules and exceptions.

• Prepare for statutory audits, owning schedules and acting as a key company-side counterpart.

YOUR PROFILE

Must-Have Skills

• Strong experience owning month-end close end to end, including reconciliations, intercompany accounting and eliminations, statutory requirements, and VAT across multiple entities.

• Experience managing external accounting and tax providers and transitioning accounting activities in-house.

• Confident stakeholder management, including the ability to challenge internal stakeholders, auditors, and external tax advisors constructively.

• Multi-country accounting experience, ideally within a shared service environment and with hands-on transition experience.

• Strong understanding of mature accounting processes combined with the ability to build and improve processes in a scaling environment.

• Experience taking ownership of an ERP-grade accounting ledger, beyond day-to-day system usage.

• A high degree of autonomy and proactivity, with the ability to take ownership without requiring detailed direction.

• An entrepreneurial mindset and comfort with building, partnering, and adapting daily in a fast-moving scale-up environment while thinking several steps ahead.

• An AI-first and automation-oriented mindset, with an interest in turning recurring accounting activities into scalable workflows.

• Experience working in a high-growth or scale-up environment, where processes, structures, and responsibilities evolve quickly.

• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, for collaborating and documenting effectively in an international environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with German HGB accounting, group consolidation, transfer pricing, or management recharge mechanisms.

• Experience acting as the company-side counterpart during a statutory audit.

• Familiarity with DATEV, Abacum, Candis, Pliant, Stripe, or comparable finance tools.

• Further European languages, particularly Spanish or Italian.

• Strong written documentation skills and a habit of creating clear, practical SOPs.
