AI Summary

Lead the analytics vision for property and hotel operations to improve guest experience and operational efficiency. Manage multiple agile pods to deliver insights on labor, cost, and quality standards for senior leadership and owners.

Position Overview

The Senior Director, Property & Operations Analytics is a key leader within Marriott’s Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI (D&AI) organization, responsible for elevating analytics, measurement practices, and decision support across the end‑to‑end property and hotel operations lifecycle. This role partners closely with Global Operations, Brand & Lodging Product, Quality, Owner & Franchise Services and Continent teams to drive performance, improve guest experience, and inform enterprise and owner decisions.

This leader owns analytics that support hotels and above‑property leaders across on‑property execution, quality and standards, renovation and compliance, service delivery, labor and cost efficiency, and operational performance. A core expectation is to bring innovation - introducing modern measurement approaches, strengthening experimentation and pilot measurement, and continuously raising the analytical maturity of the Property & Operations analytics portfolio.

As an Analytics Guild Leader in the D&AI operating model, the role leads multiple agile pods, sets standards across Operations Analytics, and ensures end‑to‑end progress on enterprise priorities, data debt reduction, and flagship initiatives such as ITR Drivers, hotel decisioning tools (e.g., QPower), and the evolution of guest satisfaction measurement.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Innovative Leadership – Property & Operations

• Define and execute the analytics vision for Property & Operations in alignment with enterprise priorities and D&AI strategy.

• Introduce innovative measurement practices, frameworks, and analytical approaches that elevate how Global Operations decisions are informed.

• Act as a thought leader on how property condition, service execution, staffing, and operational trade‑offs influence guest experience, brand health, and owner value.

2. Measurement & Decision Support

• Own measurement strategy for operations pilots, initiatives, and field tests - ensuring clear success metrics, learning agendas, and post‑pilot recommendations.

• Translate pilot and initiative results into crisp insights and decision guidance for senior leaders, operations forums, and owners.

• Continuously assess whether current KPIs and scorecards are fit‑for‑purpose, recommending changes where needed to improve decision quality.

3. Operations Analytics (End‑to‑End)

• Provide Analytics oversight across Global Ops domains, including Rooms, F&B, Spa, Engineering, Staffing/Labor, and Service Operations.

• Lead development of robust measurement frameworks for complex areas such as Food & Beverage and other operations‑heavy disciplines.

• Deepen team expertise in relevant systems, data sources, and operational dynamics across Global Operations functions.

• Ensure analytics reflect real operational realities and are trusted by field, continent, and corporate leaders.

4. Advanced Analytics & Insight Delivery

• Lead analyses and models assessing hotel performance drivers, including renovation impact, standards compliance, service execution, and operational effectiveness.

• Synthesize across GuestVoice/ITR, brand standards, quality audits, property attributes, financial signals, and operational KPIs.

• Deliver executive‑ready insights that clearly communicate what matters, why it matters, and what actions leaders should take.

5. Guild, Pod & Enterprise Leadership (D&AI Model)

• Serve as Analytics Guild Leader for Property & Operations, setting standards, best practices, and capability roadmaps.

• Work closely with other guild leaders and pod teams to ensure coordinated progress on shared priorities, enterprise initiatives, and data debt items.

• Drive alignment and momentum across large cross‑pod efforts, including ITR Drivers, hotel decisioning tools (e.g., QPower), and modernization of guest satisfaction measurement (including assessing how ITR is measured and complemented by other metrics).

6. Cross‑Functional Partnership & Influence

• Serve as the primary analytics partner to Global Operations, Quality, Asset Management, Brand Operations, Development, and Continent leadership teams.

• Embed analytics into operational planning, performance reviews, renovation prioritization, and standards governance.

• Influence leaders through strong relationships, credibility, and clear data‑driven storytelling.

7. Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a senior team of analytics leaders and practitioners.

• Elevate team capabilities in measurement design, causal analysis, experimentation, and operational decisioning.

• Foster a culture of ownership, learning, and continuous improvement.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, or related field required.

• Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years of progressive experience in analytics, strategy, operations, or related disciplines, with significant leadership responsibility.

• Proven experience driving measurement and analytics for complex operational environments. This may include KPI frameworks and decisioning for an assigned business domain.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive adoption of analytics in business decision‑making.

• Hospitality, lodging operations, quality, or asset‑focused experience required.

Skills & Knowledge

• Deep understanding of hotel operations, service delivery, and operational drivers of guest experience.

• Strong analytical, conceptual, and systems thinking skills.

• Demonstrated experience communicating with and influencing senior executives and driving enterprise‑level analytics adoption.

• Experience operating in agile, product‑oriented analytics models.
