AI Summary

Develop internal AI applications by building performant APIs, microservices, and web portals. Integrate proprietary data with modern LLMs and agent development frameworks to improve business efficiency.

JOB SUMMARY

As a Contract Full Stack Engineer, you'll be a key set of hands helping build out internal AI applications. You'll work closely with the Head of Engineering, taking well-defined requirements and turning them into highly available, reliable, secure, and performant APIs, microservices, and internal web portals.

This is a pure delivery role. Our client needs a self-starter who can pick up tickets, write clean code, and integrate standard web technologies with modern LLM APIs to help the business run smarter and faster.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hands-on development: focus primarily on writing production-grade code, building out specific features for internal platforms.
  • Full-stack execution: build robust backend services and integrate them with clean, functional front-end interfaces for internal teams.
  • API integration: work with the Head of Engineering to connect proprietary data with cutting-edge LLMs using established APIs and emerging agent development frameworks.
  • Testing and deployment: ensure delivered code is well-tested and plays nicely within existing cloud infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Stack:

  • Backend: Python and/or Node.js.
  • Frontend: modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
  • Infrastructure: general familiarity with GCP (Cloud Run, Vertex AI) and basic Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

Experience and Skills:

  • Solid full stack experience: proven experience writing and deploying robust services using Python or Node.js, alongside modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, or TypeScript).
  • Cloud familiarity: comfortable working within modern cloud platforms (preferably Google Cloud Platform) and understand containerised deployments (e.g. Docker, Cloud Run).
  • API & integration skills: strong experience building and consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
  • Self-starter: comfortable picking up tasks and working independently to deliver them on time, asking for unblockers when necessary.
  • AI interest: you don't need to be an AI researcher, but you should be excited to work with LLMs and basic agentic systems.
  • UK time-zone overlap: able to commit to at least 4 hours of daily overlap with UK business hours (09:00–17:00 GMT/BST).
  • English proficiency: professional working proficiency in written and spoken English (CEFR C1/C2).
