AI Summary

Lead a multidisciplinary team to build and deploy rapid-turn AI solutions, including RPA automations and AI agents. Establish governance standards and partner with business stakeholders to deliver scalable automation initiatives.

When our values align, there's no limit to what we can achieve.

At Parexel, we all share the same goal - to improve the world's health. From clinical trials to regulatory, consulting, and market access, every clinical development solution we provide is underpinned by something special - a deep conviction in what we do.

Each of us, no matter what we do at Parexel, contributes to the development of a therapy that ultimately will benefit a patient. We take our work personally, we do it with empathy and we're committed to making a difference.

Parexel is in the business of improving the world’s health. We do this by providing a suite of biopharmaceutical services that help clients across the globe transform scientific discoveries into new treatments.  We believe in our values, Patients First, Quality, Respect, Empowerment & Accountability.

This role will work within our innovative Data & Technology group that continues to evolve to meet business needs, fuel Parexel's growth and enable improved support for stakeholders, including customers and ultimately patients, who will benefit from Parexel's integrated processes and systems.

This role can be based in either Poland or Romania and can be fully home based and remote working anywhere in either of these two locations only.

As the Senior Director, Light-Track Delivery & Automation you will lead the team that builds and ships rapid-turn AI solutions across Parexel — RPA automations, AI agents and assistants, and other small-scale automation — and enable business super-users to build their own. This function exists to deliver real value fast: not every AI use case needs a multi-month engineering build, and a substantial portion of Parexel's AI footprint will live in this space. You will run a multidisciplinary team that includes RPA engineers, AI agent/assistant builders, and governance support, balancing direct delivery with citizen-developer enablement. You will also partner closely with the enterprise intake process, AI Solution Direction, the Power Apps community in the broader D&T organization, and business stakeholders across all functions.

We are looking for an experienced engineering or delivery leader who knows how to ship — quickly, reliably, and at scale. You will understand the difference between a one-off build and a reusable pattern, and instinctively look for the reusable pattern. You must be comfortable managing a portfolio of small-to-medium initiatives rather than a small number of large ones, and can keep dozens of pieces moving without losing quality. You must have led teams that include both professional engineers and citizen developers, and know how to make that mix work. You will bring strong commercial instincts about which builds are worth doing and which aren't, and you can have those conversations honestly with business stakeholders

Key Accountabilities:

Portfolio Delivery

  • Lead the team building rapid-turn AI solutions across Parexel: RPA automations, AI agents and assistants, and other small-scale automation work.

  • Receive new work through the enterprise intake process and AI Solution Direction--partner with both on scoping and platform fit decisions—or citizen developer escalations.

AI Agent & Assistant Development

  • Oversee the team that builds AI agents and assistants on the platforms most fit for purpose (Copilot Studio, PAIA, and others as the platform stack evolves).

  • Develop reusable patterns, templates, and standards that accelerate development across platforms.

RPA & Process Automation

  • Lead the RPA team delivering process automations on UiPath and adjacent platforms.

  • Run the team's intake-to-delivery cycle (problem definition → proof of concept → production handoff).

Light-Track Operations & Governance

  • Establish and maintain governance discipline that lets light-track move fast without creating sprawl: triage, platform-fit judgment, quality standards, and reuse documentation.

  • Coordinate with AI Solution Direction on patterns that should evolve into broader products.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as senior point of contact for light-track delivery across all Parexel functions.

  • Partner with the Power Apps team to coordinate solution-shape decisions when work could go either direction.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team across multiple geographies, including engineers, citizen-dev enablement specialists, and operations leads.

  • Develop talent across both professional engineering and citizen-developer enablement paths.

Skills:

  • Strong delivery leadership across a portfolio of small-to-medium AI and automation initiatives.

  • Excellent prioritization instincts; able to make build/skip and platform-fit decisions confidently and explain them clearly.

  • Strong partnership skills with business stakeholders, technical teams, and citizen developers.

  • Working knowledge of RPA platforms (UiPath preferred), AI agent/assistant platforms (Copilot Studio, PAIA, or equivalents), and enterprise integration patterns.

  • Comfortable in a regulated environment with familiarity in life sciences or another GxP-adjacent industry.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong demonstrable experience in Technology Delivery, Engineering Management, or Automation Leadership already operating at Director level or above with advanced level exposure leading multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Direct high level experience leading RPA or process automation programs at enterprise scale.

  • Experience with citizen-developer enablement and the operational realities of supporting non-engineer builders.

  • Strong understanding of when to build vs. defer, and how to choose among available platforms for a given problem.

  • Experience working across geographies and managing distributed teams.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field required.

  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) preferred.

In return we will be able to offer you a structured career pathway and encouragement to develop within the role including awareness and understanding of the industry.  You will be well supported and in return for your hard work you will be rewarded with a competitive base salary, bonus, car allowance and holiday as well as other leading benefits you would expect with a top company in the CRO Industry.
