Position Summary:
The Senior Director of Commercial Finance leads the commercial finance function by driving financial strategy, financial DCF modeling, forecasting, and profitability analysis. This role is a key business partner to Sales, Marketing, and Product teams across various businesses like Clinical, Pharma and ODS. This position requires a deep understanding of both finance and business operations, with a strong background in scaling finance functions in high-growth environments.
Core Responsibilities:
- Strategic Business Partnering: Work cross-functionally with Commercial (Sales, Marketing, Product) leaders to support revenue growth, optimize pricing strategies, Incentive comp strategies and influence business decisions through financial insights
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for commercial functions. Develop models to drive revenue, margin, and customer profitability analyses.
- Performance Management: Create and manage KPIs and dashboards to evaluate business performance, sales productivity, customer acquisition cost (CAC), LTV, and ROI on marketing spend
- New Product Modeling: Partner with product management to build financial models supporting new product launch. Inclusive of presenting out to leadership and tracking performance once launched.
- Revenue & Margin Optimization: Analyze drivers of revenue and gross margin performance. Recommend strategies to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing Commercial Finance team. Provide mentorship, performance management, and professional development opportunities.
- Stakeholder Communication: Present financial insights and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, the CFO, and CEO when needed
Additional Responsibilities (may be assigned):
- May attend continuing education programs or workshops; present best-practices to team; Participate in on-going Corporate training as assigned.

Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business or Economics; MBA/CPA/CMA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance roles, including significant experience in commercial finance or FP&A
- 5+ years of experience of people management experience
- Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, business performance management, accounting principles, and financial controls
- Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills with the ability to convert complex data into actionable business insights
- Proficiency in ERP systems, financial planning tools, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence/data visualization platforms
- Proven ability to partner with business leaders, influence stakeholders, communicate effectively with executives, and lead cross-functional initiatives
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in healthcare, diagnostics, life sciences, or other regulated industries preferred
Travel Required:
Ability to travel as required by role (10-25% of the time)
