Senior DevOps Engineer with Python (AWS, Terraform)

Your Project

You will join the OS Factory product as a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Python skills.

This product aims to accelerate the delivery of hardened operating system images across multiple major public cloud providers for the engineering teams. The product will provide self-service capabilities to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of OS images.

The OS images produced by the team will play a crucial role in securing both digital product and enterprise workloads at a global scale through key observability features for highly sensitive workloads that are subject to a multitude of regulatory requirements. They will also have to deliver key enablers to attain and retain certifications such as HITRUST and the ISO 27k family for our global workloads. The hardened images have to deliver a robust, stable, reliable, and up-to-date operating system landscape.

The factory will be a robust, highly automated, self-service platform that is configurable to meet the needs of our stakeholders across multi-cloud foundations, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and other specialized cloud providers.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer for the Hardened OS Factory, you will play a critical engineering role focused on cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, CI/CD automation, and Python-based tooling.

The team is currently migrating its CI/CD ecosystem from GitLab to GitHub, so hands-on experience with both platforms will be an advantage.

Your Role

• Build, maintain, and improve cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Develop automation and internal tooling using Python.
• Provision and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
• Deploy, configure, and support workloads in Kubernetes environments.
• Work with AWS infrastructure and services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and GitLab CI/CD.
• Support the migration of CI/CD workflows from GitLab to GitHub.
• Automate deployment, configuration, and operational processes.
• Build and support serverless and event-driven cloud solutions.
• Ensure infrastructure and platform components are scalable, reliable, maintainable, and observable.
• Collaborate with developers and platform engineers to improve self-service capabilities and engineering workflows.

Your Profile

• Strong hands-on DevOps / Platform Engineering experience.
• Strong practical Python skills for automation, tooling, and infrastructure-related development.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, with a solid understanding of core infrastructure and compute services, including:
  • Lambda
  • EC2
  • VPC
  • EBS
  • Systems Manager (SSM)
• Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD platforms, specifically GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI/CD.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting cloud-based applications and infrastructure.

Nice to Have

• Experience with both GitLab and GitHub, particularly CI/CD migration between the two platforms.
• Experience designing and supporting serverless, event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure and/or GCP.
• Ansible experience.
• Experience with logging and monitoring solutions such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• AWS and/or Kubernetes certifications.
