The Senior Data Analyst will support program management and data analytics activities by developing dashboards, tracking data lineage, and compiling reports for the Department of Homeland Security. They will collaborate with cross-discipline teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and client requirements.
GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Data Analyst to support program management, data analytics, and reporting activities at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This role will be responsible for providing support within a team of analysts to government taskings, data calls, analytics and dashboard development, data lineage and various other programmatic needs. This role will be a fully remote position.
Responsibilities
Leverage experience with Databricks and other complimentary tool sets to breakdown processes and accurately track data lineage across system.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to collect and compile information to ensure timely responses to requests and ad hoc assignments.
Support data analytics and reporting requirements for unit teams including weekly and monthly report requirements to the customer as well as real-time response to tasking related data requests.
Group data from multiple sources to create interconnected data streams for analysis (using SQL or Python).
Develop data dashboards and organizational views of data requirements for customers.
Understand the needs, issues, and challenges faced by the clients; perform gap analysis and recommend solutions.
Coordinate with cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules.
Create project deliverables, including artifacts to ensure adherence to team compliance and quality standards.
Develop, gather and disseminate information and documentation among both business and technical customers in support of the Project Managers.
Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution.
Verify data and information and analyze it to suit the direction of a project.
Track, forecast and report on project progress including metrics and challenges.
Work with all team members to analyze changes in requirements and recommend the most expedient solutions in a timely manner.
Leverage advanced writing skills to translate complicated issues from multiple information sources into a clear point of view to create a compelling, concise, and well-written narrative.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (or commensurate experience)
8+ years of professional experience
3+ years of experience working in data analysis
Experience with Databricks
Experience with Python and/or SQL development

Clearance Required:
