Modern Health is hiring a Senior Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance to serve as a key advisor across healthcare regulation, privacy, AI, and product development. This role operates at the center of a highly regulated, fast-scaling digital health platform—partnering closely with clinical, product, engineering, and business teams to enable compliant innovation.

In this role, you will provide strategic and practical guidance on complex healthcare regulatory frameworks, including employer benefits regulations, telehealth, professional licensure, and related federal and state requirements. You will work directly with product and clinical teams to support the design and launch of new offerings, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory expectations.

You will also lead privacy and data governance efforts, advising on healthcare privacy laws and global data protection frameworks, while helping operationalize privacy-by-design across the product lifecycle. This includes supporting data protection agreements, managing risk across vendor ecosystems, and building scalable policies, playbooks, and training programs.

A key component of the role involves shaping the company’s approach to AI governance—developing frameworks for responsible data use, advising on regulatory implications of AI in healthcare, and guiding cross-functional teams on emerging global standards. You will also contribute to broader compliance initiatives, helping design and implement systems, controls, and processes appropriate for a high-growth, regulated environment.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in healthcare regulatory and privacy matters, along with a strong understanding of product counseling in complex environments.
