JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for our next Senior Consultant to join our established team, where you will deliver high‑value advisory services to clients across diverse industries. This role executes consulting engagements related to customs compliance, import/export strategy, duty optimization, risk mitigation, and regulatory adherence. Partner closely with clients to assess their global trade operations, identify compliance gaps, design process improvements, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce exposure. Must be capable of interfacing with all levels of a client environment from senior executive management to operational employees, and able to build, maintain and grow relationships with clients. This position also plays a key role in business development by shaping proposals, supporting sales teams, and expanding Livingston’s consulting footprint in the market.

The ideal candidate has deep customs and trade knowledge, with the ability to translate complex regulations into actionable client strategies. They also need to be a true people person who communicates with ease, and thrives in team-driven environments.

 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage consulting client engagements in a client-facing role. 
  • Develop the engagement project and staffing plan.
  • Project manage the engagement team assigned including project management reviews and status reports – internally and to the client
  • Interpret customs and compliance regulations and apply to clients’ needs. 
  • Lead Post Engagement Reviews and client satisfaction surveys including the outline of lessons learned, development of action plans, and assignment of, follows through to ensure actions have taken place.
  • Escalate client and project issues in a timely fashion.
  • Support selling of consulting engagements and promote Livingston as the leader in Customs and trade consulting services.
  • Develop and deliver winning proposals (upon request from Practice Leader)
  • Contribute to building and maintenance of the Practice Methodology by recommending and delivering improvements.
  • Show initiative to do special project support – recognize issues, identify gaps, suggest solutions and implement project.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management. 
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Industry and management consulting experience
  • Five to ten years work experience in export and/or Import compliance operational management
  • Trade expertise and operational experience in imports and/or exports both commerce and state. Ability to apply that expertise in the client’s environment
  • Capability to recognize issues in the client’s situation
  • Ability to apply GTC disciplines in the determination of the scope, sizing, pricing, proposal and contracting of Managed Services
  • Must be able to build, maintain and grow relationships with clients
  • Must be a self starter with the ability to manage and deliver commitments
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Organized, logical thinker
  • Ability to set client expectations and stay within the engagement scope
  • Ability to assist in preparing and participating in the sale to prospective clients including finalizing contracting documents and obtaining signatures

WORK EXPERIENCE – MINIMUM REQUIRED

8 years of progressive experience

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent

Base salary is one component of our total rewards package which also includes incentive opportunities, benefits, and professional development. Salary ranges are established by location and reflect relevant factors such as skills, experience, and market conditions. The good-faith salary range for this position is $84,175 - $130,000 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on these factors and may vary accordingly.
