Thinking this so far; At ICON, it's our people that set us apart. We are currently seeking a Senior Clinical Research Associate (CRA) to join our Clinical Operations team in Belgium. This is a fully home-based opportunity where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical trials while working on innovative studies across a variety of therapeutic areas.

 

The Role

As a Senior CRA, you will be responsible for overseeing site management and monitoring activities, ensuring studies are conducted in accordance with protocol requirements, ICH-GCP guidelines, and applicable regulatory standards. You'll work closely with investigators, site staff, sponsors, and internal study teams to ensure successful study delivery while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and data quality.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing clinical studies in Belgium for large pharmaceutical sponsors including oncology studies
  • Independently monitor Phase I–III clinical trials to ensure compliance with ICH-GCP and regulatory requirements
  • Ensuring investigator sites remain compliant with study protocols, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Identifying and proactively managing site risks, issues, and performance concerns.
  • Supporting study start-up, enrolment, and ongoing site management activities.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate study delivery.
  • Maintaining high-quality documentation and reporting throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Building strong relationships with investigators and site personnel to support successful trial execution.

 

Your Profile:

  • A degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Medicine, or a related scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience as a Clinical Research Associate within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ICH-GCP, clinical trial processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple sites and priorities.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is essential.
  • Conversational French is required to effectively engage with sites and stakeholders across Belgium.
  • A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for site visits as required.
