Senior Cinematic Animator

OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
 
 Piranha Games is looking for an experienced Cinematic Animator with a keen eye for believable motion. They will be a valuable contribution to high fidelity sequences and help bring a compelling narrative to life. 
 
 As a Senior Cinematic Animator, you’ll be involved in the process of everything from motion capture to bringing key frame animation into Unreal where you’ll use the latest tools. If you’re talented, organized, and self-motivated, this is a great opportunity to give a nuanced movement to stunning characters.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Principal Animator and Cinematic Artists to design and implement animations
• Enhance and refine character performances (body and facial) from video and motion capture
• Bring a strong understanding of acting, posing, timing and keyframing 
• Work with both animators and technical animators to help resolve any issues that may occur in translation
• Strive to find better approaches to workflow and provide general feedback from a cinematic perspective
• Exhibit a positive attitude and collaborate with peers to achieve the best story telling solutions.
• Adjust and refine animations as indicated by Principal Animator or Cinematic Director
• Work with producers to establish accurate estimates to ensure on-time deliverables are met
• Help maintain consistent file structure and naming convention for game assets 
   
   
   REQUIREMENTS:
• 7 + years of experience in a similar capacity 
• Proficiency with standard animation tools such as MotionBuilder, Maya or 3ds Max
• Solid understanding of animation principles 
• A combination of education and relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree in related field
• Highly motivated, self-driven problem solver with strong attention to details
• Strong ability to accept direction and constructive criticism objectively 
• Proven track record to complete work within deadlines while maintaining constant communication with team
• Ability to work under pressure and thrive in fast-paced work environment while maintaining high quality results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
   
   Additional Qualifications
• Experience with sequencing with the Unreal engine
• A strong passion for making and playing games!
