Role Overview 

The role aims to develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives to drive sustainable growth. It involves strategic planning, key account management, sales leadership, market expansion, contract management, forecasting, and executive reporting. 

 

Main responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning and Development: 

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current market landscape, competitive environment, and industry trends. 
  • Define clear business objectives, growth targets, and strategic priorities. 
  • Develop a comprehensive business development strategy that outlines key initiatives, timelines, and resource allocation. 
  • Create detailed action plans and implementation schedules for each strategic initiative. 

Key Account Management and Relationship Building: 

  • Identify and prioritize key client accounts. 
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders at key client organizations. 
  • Develop tailored account plans to address the specific needs and goals of each key account. 
  • Proactively manage account relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty. 

Business Development Initiatives: 

  • Identify and evaluate potential opportunities for market expansion, product diversification, or strategic partnerships. 
  • Conduct market research and feasibility studies to assess the viability of new business ventures. 
  • Develop detailed business cases and proposals for new initiatives. 
  • Lead the execution of business development projects, including negotiations, contract management, and resource allocation. 

Market Expansion and Entry Strategies: 

  • Identify and evaluate new markets with high growth potential. 
  • Develop market entry strategies, including product positioning, pricing, distribution channels, and marketing plans. 
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform decision-making. 
  • Lead the execution of market entry initiatives. 

Negotiation and Contract Management: 

  • Take charge of high-stakes negotiations with clients, partners, and suppliers. 
  • Develop effective negotiation strategies and tactics. 
  • Manage complex contractual agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 

Sales Forecasting and Analysis: 

  • Develop accurate sales forecasts based on market trends, historical data, and customer insights. 
  • Conduct in-depth sales analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimize performance. 
  • Provide insights to the executive team to support informed decision-making. 

Board and Executive Reporting: 

  • Prepare regular reports on business development activities, progress, and results. 
  • Present strategic plans, initiatives, and recommendations to the board of directors and executive team. 
  • Provide updates on key performance indicators and financial metrics. 

 

Candidate Profile  

  • Proven experience in business development or sales leadership within the DACH market for an OEM. 
  • Strong understanding of DACH business dynamics and commercial regulations  
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills  
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution  
  • Ability to build trust and influence at senior levels  
  • Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen  
  • Fluent in German and English
