The Senior Business Analyst will analyze and document Workers' Compensation processes across claims, policy, and billing to support transformation initiatives. They will also collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements, governance standards, and business rules to ensure high-quality data solutions.
This is a remote position.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with strong Workers’ Compensation insurance and data expertise to support business process, data governance, and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate will understand Workers’ Compensation operations and be able to translate business processes and data requirements into actionable solutions.
Analyze and document Workers’ Compensation processes across Claims, Policy Administration, Underwriting, Billing, and Regulatory Reporting.
Gather and document business, functional, and data requirements through stakeholder interviews and workshops.
Analyze current-state processes and data flows, identify gaps, and define future-state processes.
Define and document business rules, data elements, data definitions, ownership, and data quality requirements.
Support data governance, data quality, metadata, business glossary, and data stewardship initiatives.
Map business processes and data flows and identify relationships, dependencies, and data lineage where applicable.
Work with business stakeholders, Data Owners, Data Stewards, SMEs, and technology teams to validate requirements and data definitions.
Facilitate workshops to establish and standardize key Workers’ Compensation business terms and data definitions.
Translate business needs into clear functional and data requirements for technology and data teams.
Support process improvement, data remediation, modernization, and transformation initiatives.
Assist with data analysis, validation, and reconciliation to identify data quality issues and recommend improvements.
8+ years of Business Analysis experience with strong Workers Compensation insurance domain expertise.
Strong functional knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Claims and Policy Administration.
Strong understanding of insurance data, data flows, business rules, and data quality.
Experience with requirements gathering, process mapping, data analysis, and data documentation.
Experience working with Data Governance, Data Management, or Data Quality initiatives.
Experience defining business terms, data elements, data ownership, and stewardship requirements.
Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
Excellent analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to bridge the gap between business, data, and technology teams.
Experience with business glossary, metadata management, data lineage, MDM, or data catalog initiatives.
Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation data models and regulatory reporting.
Experience with SQL or other tools for basic data analysis and validation.
Experience with process modeling tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, or Bizagi.
Experience supporting insurance modernization or digital transformation programs.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
