Senior Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to develop APIs, microservices, and cloud application services within a large scale AWS modernization program. This role focuses on reliable business logic, data access, and event driven integrations.

What you will be doing:

You will design and implement backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, or Python, expose REST APIs, and integrate application services with databases and event streams. You will implement validation, error handling, and appropriate authentication and authorization controls.

You will write automated tests, review code, troubleshoot service behavior, and improve reliability and performance. Working with frontend, QA, and cloud teams, you will document service interfaces and support releases through CI/CD workflows.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Practical experience developing backend applications with Node.js, TypeScript, or Python.

• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs and implementing microservices.

• Experience developing applications on AWS, using services such as Lambda or API Gateway.

• Working knowledge of relational or NoSQL databases and application data access.

• Understanding of asynchronous processing, messaging, and event driven integration concepts.

• Experience with automated testing, Git, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows.

• Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have Skills

• Experience with both Node.js and Python.

• Experience with Kafka, Amazon MSK, DynamoDB, or Aurora PostgreSQL.

• Familiarity with OpenAPI, Cognito, OAuth, OIDC, JWT, or CloudWatch.

Soft Skills

• Ability to investigate service issues and communicate technical findings clearly.

• Ownership of reliable implementations and clear interface documentation.

• Collaboration with frontend, QA, and cloud engineers.
