Senior AI Engineer (Harness Development)

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our dynamic R&D Team, where you will own high-scale features end-to-end across our FinOps platform and AWS billing engine - contributing directly to our mission of empowering fast-paced startups.

This role is for an engineer who has already built AI-driven software development systems, not just used AI coding assistants. We’re looking for someone with production experience designing autonomous engineering workflows, improving how software is built through agents, and turning AI from an individual coding tool into an engineering capability used across a team. We’re looking for someone excited that the craft of software is changing, and who wants to operate at (and help define) the frontier of it.

You will work with: Node.js/TypeScript (NestJS, Fastify, Prisma ORM) + React (TanStack, TipTap, Material UI, Untitled UI) + PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Own features end-to-end, from vague stakeholder ask to production deployment, including discovery, design, implementation, testing, rollout and iteration.
• Refine requirements proactively using the Value, Usability, Feasibility and Viability (VUFV) framework. Challenge weak requirements, propose better solutions and maintain a tight feedback loop with stakeholders.
• Generate production code with AI while taking full ownership of architecture, correctness, security, performance and long-term maintainability.
• Design and evolve company-specific AI engineering workflows, including development agents, multi-agent orchestration, evaluation pipelines and autonomous feature implementation, improving how software is built rather than simply consuming existing AI tools.
• Continuously improve the engineering harness by refining context, prompts, skills, MCP integrations, validation workflows and developer automation that enable reliable AI-assisted software delivery at scale.
• Solve deep technical problems across FinOps processes and AWS billing calculations.
• Ship scalable, maintainable, well-tested and well-documented software, while maintaining the architecture and implementation documentation behind it.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer shipping production systems.
• Deep expertise in the TypeScript ecosystem, particularly Node.js, NestJS, React, PostgreSQL and modern backend architecture.
• Strong product engineering mindset with the ability to translate complex, ambiguous business requirements into scalable technical solutions and challenge assumptions when there’s a better approach.
• Proven production experience building autonomous software engineering workflows, AI engineering platforms, development agents or engineering automation, not just using AI coding assistants.
• Experience designing multi-agent workflows, autonomous development pipelines, evaluation and validation frameworks, or similar AI-native engineering systems.
• Strong understanding of Context Engineering, including managing repository context, engineering knowledge, MCP integrations and long-running agent workflows.
• Experience validating AI-generated code through automated evaluation, testing, CI/CD and review systems.
• Excellent debugging, problem-solving and software design skills, with a strong focus on code quality, scalability and maintainability.
• Fluent written and verbal English.

Nice to have

• Experience building autonomous feature development or ticket-to-code workflows.
• Experience with planner, generator, evaluator or other multi-agent orchestration patterns.
• Experience building custom MCP servers, AI developer tooling or internal engineering platforms.
• Experience with AI evaluation frameworks, engineering knowledge systems or long-running autonomous agents.
• Experience with vector databases.
• Experience with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx).
• Experience with Puppeteer / Playwright.
• Strong SQL knowledge.
• Experience with Fastify.
• Familiarity with AWS services.
• Experience with financial dashboards or data-heavy products.
• Strapi Framework experience.
• Experience with Material UI at scale.
