ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Accounting Consultant is a dedicated accounting and finance expert staffed directly onto client engagements. This role is designed for an experienced accounting professional who has worked within the finance function of mid-size companies and understands how to manage accounting operations, close cycles, financial reporting, and ERP systems.
You will operate as an extension of the client's team, taking ownership of assigned accounting responsibilities while adapting quickly to their processes, systems, and business requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, hands-on ERP experience, sound judgment, and the ability to build trust with client stakeholders.
This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling, with a minimum commitment of 4-hour work blocks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role you'll get to...
- serve as the client's embedded accounting resource, taking direction on day-to-day priorities while maintaining Pandoblox's quality and delivery standards
- quickly become familiar with the client's chart of accounts, accounting processes, close procedures, reporting cadence, and ERP configuration
- own recurring accounting activities including month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
- work hands-on across accounting and ERP platforms, particularly NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and QuickBooks, to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies
- adapt to different client ERP environments and chart of accounts structures with minimal ramp-up time
- prepare and deliver accurate and timely financial reports and statements according to the client's required format and reporting cadence
- identify accounting discrepancies, investigate root causes, and proactively resolve issues to maintain the accuracy and integrity of financial data
- evaluate accounting workflows and ERP usage to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement
- recommend practical improvements to accounting processes, controls, workflows, and ERP utilization
- maintain clear documentation of accounting procedures and relevant ERP configurations to support continuity and knowledge transfer
- communicate regularly with the assigned Operational Manager regarding engagement status, client satisfaction, risks, capacity concerns, and blockers
- accurately track billable hours and engagement activity using the organization's time-tracking systems
- contribute accounting and ERP knowledge, best practices, templates, and process improvements to the broader consulting practice
- represent Pandoblox professionally throughout client engagements through clear communication, responsiveness, reliability, and high-quality delivery
REQUIREMENTS
On day one we'll expect you to...
- have 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with meaningful experience working within the finance function of mid-size companies
- possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
- have strong hands-on experience with at least two of the following ERP and accounting platforms: NetSuite, Sage Intacct, and QuickBooks
- have experience working with Microsoft Dynamics or other ERP platforms, which is a plus
- demonstrate a strong understanding of month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, AP/AR, and GAAP-based financial reporting
- be comfortable navigating an unfamiliar ERP environment and learning new systems and processes quickly
- have experience maintaining accurate financial records and investigating and resolving accounting discrepancies
- have experience preparing financial reports and supporting reporting requirements for business stakeholders
- have experience identifying process gaps and recommending improvements to accounting workflows and ERP usage
- have prior client-facing or cross-functional stakeholder experience, ideally within a consulting, outsourced accounting, or shared-services environment
- possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to work directly with client stakeholders
- be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing assigned responsibilities independently
- demonstrate strong analytical judgment, problem-solving ability, and professional integrity
- be comfortable working flexible part-time hours in minimum 4-hour work blocks
- be a self-starter who knows when to take ownership and when to escalate risks or blockers
- have a fully functional and up-to-date computer with which to perform duties
- be willing to install next-generation endpoint protection on the computer
- be a current resident of the Philippines and legally able to perform work from there
- be willing to work with client schedules and accommodate US Pacific business hours when required
