ABOUT US
Rythm is the fastest-growing lab in America. We redefined at-home testing with the world’s easiest blood test and created a culture around monthly lab testing from home. We’ve processed millions of tests across all 50 states, and we do everything in-house, from sample testing and logistics to code, marketing, and design. That vertical integration gives us the speed, control, and creativity to shape the future of health and wellness.
THE ROLE
As our Senior Accountant, you’ll be at the center of Rythm’s growing finance function. Working closely with the Head of Finance and the founders, you’ll own core pieces of the close, keep our books accurate and GAAP-aligned, and help design the scalable, automated processes a fast-growing company needs. This is a high-ownership role with broad exposure across everything from journal entries to management reporting, and real influence over how accounting works at Rythm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own key areas of the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, preparing complex journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Own assigned components of the balance sheet and income statement, including month-end review and monthly flux and variance analysis to identify key drivers and explain period-over-period changes.
- Prepare GAAP-aligned financial statements and monthly reporting packages for the founders, board, and investors.
- Manage and improve accounting processes across the general ledger, including revenue, accounts receivable, accruals, and inventory and COGS, performing quarterly reconciliation reviews to ensure compliance with company policies and U.S. GAAP and to resolve process gaps.
- Research and document accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, applying sound judgment and company accounting policies.
- Redesign and automate routine processes such as journal entries and reconciliations using AI tools, helping build scalable processes, internal controls, and documentation as Rythm grows.
- Act as a business partner across Operations, Partnerships, Legal, and Product; support external audit and tax workstreams with our external CPA; and drive special projects from identification through implementation.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and high-growth startup or consumer subscription environments.
- Strong command of U.S. GAAP, with the ability to research technical accounting questions and document conclusions clearly.
- Track record of owning month-end close components, including journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis, with accuracy and speed.
- Systems fluency: modern GL platforms and advanced Excel; SQL is a plus.
- Fluency with AI tools. We use AI heavily across the finance function and expect you to apply it daily to automate and improve your work.
- A process-improvement mindset: you spot manual work and find ways to automate it.
- Comfort with the pace and ambiguity of an early-stage company; you’re happy wearing multiple hats.
- CPA or active CPA candidate preferred.
