PsychoGenics is seeking an experienced Scientific Writer to support our preclinical pain research program through the development of high-quality grant proposals, scientific publications, and technical reports. The successful candidate will work closely with scientists, business development, and executive leadership to translate complex in vitro and in vivo pain pharmacology data into compelling scientific narratives that support funding, publication, and business growth. This position requires exceptional scientific writing skills, a strong background in neuroscience and pain biology, and the ability to synthesize multidisciplinary data into clear, accurate, and impactful documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Organize, analyze, and interpret preclinical datasets from in vivo and in vitro studies.
  • Prepare figures, tables, graphical abstracts, and supplementary materials.
  • Draft review articles, white papers, conference abstracts, posters, and oral presentations.
  • Coordinate manuscript revisions with co-authors and respond to reviewer comments.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or a related life science.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of scientific writing experience within a pharmaceutical, biotech or Contract Research Organization (CRO).
  • Exceptional scientific writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to transform complex datasets into compelling scientific narratives.
  • Strong critical thinking and data interpretation abilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy.
  • Experience writing NIH (SBIR/STTR), DoD, and foundation grants.
  • Familiarity with FDA drug development pathways for pain therapeutics.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (GraphPad Prism, R, SAS, or JMP).

This position can be either onsite or remote and the hours may vary from full time to part time, depending on projects. It will be full time to start.
