Position Summary
The School District Project Manager serves as a client-facing and governance manager for complex, multi-stakeholder K-12 school district and state-level engagements. This role combines high-level project management and client success partnership.
The Senior Director is responsible for the fulfillment of all contractual obligations for school district curriculum projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, high-stakes educational projects on time and on budget. This role oversees the day-to-day management of assigned projects, guides cross-functional internal teams and independent contractors, and collaborates with the team to design scalable workflows (including AI-enabled systems).

- Client Relationship: Serve alongside the School Solutions partner as the primary face of the project and a trusted advisor to client district and state educational leaders, guiding project scope, success criteria, and long-term partnership strategy.
- Expectation Management: Proactively manage client expectations, ensure high levels of satisfaction, and confidently lead internal and client-facing meetings.
- Communication: Maintain clear reporting and timely communication across all internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Project Architecture: Along with the project team, create, implement, and maintain project plans, schedules, timelines, budgets, folder structures, and operational frameworks from the ground up.
- Workflow Innovation: Collaborating with the project team, design and implement scalable workflows, including AI-enabled processes and automation to improve efficiency, quality, and content compliance.
- Cross-Functional Teams: Coordinate cross-functional teams (curriculum, creative services, subject matter experts, instructional design, and production), ensuring collaboration, efficiency, and fidelity to instructional intent.
- Risk & Change Management: Proactively identify challenges, manage scope evolution, and address escalated issues regarding contract compliance, public-sector review cycles, and pilot feedback loops.
- Financial Management: Build and monitor complex project budgets aligned with organizational goals, manage revenue streams, provide invoicing information to Finance team, and oversee independent contractor resource allocation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Environment: This job operates in a fully remote home office environment within the 48 contiguous states. The employee is required to maintain high-speed internet access. Standard office hardware and software will be provided.
- Physical Demands: Occasional sitting, standing, walking, and the ability to lift up to 20 pounds of office supplies.
- Travel: Position requires up to 10% travel, primarily overnight, to attend in-person client meetings, district presentations, and educational conferences.
Required Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of content development and project management experience within the K-12 education at the district level, or educational technology sector.
- PM Leadership Experience: Proven track record of managing large-scale curriculum development and production projects and leading cross-functional editorial/creative teams of 10+ people.
- School District Expertise: Deep familiarity with the unique review cycles, compliance requirements, and approval processes inherent in state and district-level contracts.
- Financial Acumen: Demonstrated experience monitoring and meeting large project budgets.

1. This is a remote-based part-time contract position, up to 30hrs per week.
2. Contracted rate $5,000 per month
3. Flexible schedule within regular business hours
4. Must have own computer with Microsoft Office and a reliable internet connection.
