SAP BTP Developer - Nova Intelligence Support(

About the role

You will build and support SAP enhancements generated with Nova Intelligence, an AI tool for creating SAP extensions, using clean-core, side-by-side development on SAP BTP.

ICM America partners with Nova Intelligence to deliver SAP enhancements faster for our clients. Instead of modifying the SAP core, the team builds extensions on SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) that connect to S/4HANA through released APIs and events.

The team is formed before projects are signed. New hires spend their first weeks learning the Nova Intelligence platform, so they are productive from day one of a client engagement. Work is fully remote, with some overlap with US Eastern or Central business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy side-by-side SAP extensions on SAP BTP (Cloud Foundry and ABAP environments).
• Use Nova Intelligence to generate, review, refine and test SAP enhancements, the nvalidate the output against client requirements.
• Develop applications with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) in Node.jsor Java, and RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model) where needed.
• Build Fiori / SAPUI5 front ends, including Fiori Elements apps.
• Integrate extensions with SAP S/4HANA and ECC using OData, REST APIs, SAP Integration Suite and SAP Event Mesh.
• Follow clean-core principles: use released APIs and extension points, never core modifications.
• Configure BTP services: XSUAA security, destinations, connectivity (Cloud Connector), and HANA Cloud.
• Write unit tests, support CI/CD pipelines, and manage code in Git.
• Translate functional specs into technical designs and document solutions clearly.
• Provide post-go-live support, troubleshooting and performance tuning for delivered enhancements.
• Complete Nova Intelligence onboarding and training before project assignment, and share feedback to improve the tool.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of SAP development experience, with at least 1–2 years hands-on with SAPBTP.
• Proven experience delivering side-by-side extensions (not only in-app / classic enhancements).

• Strong skills in SAP CAP (Node.js or Java) and/or ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).
• Solid ABAP knowledge, including modern ABAP (7.4+ syntax, ABAP OO, CDS views).
• Experience with SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 development.
• Working knowledge of OData services, REST APIs and SAP integration patterns.
• Familiarity with BTP security (XSUAA, role collections) and Cloud Connector.
• Experience with Git and SAP Business Application Studio or VS Code.
• Good written and spoken English for working with US-based teams and clients.
• Reliable internet and a home workspace suitable for full-time remote work.
• Willingness to learn AI-assisted development tools and complete Nova Intelligence training.

Preferred qualifications

• SAP certification, e.g. SAP Certified Associate – Back-End Developer – ABAP Cloud, or SAP BTP Extension Developer.
• Experience with S/4HANA Cloud (public or private edition) and clean-core extensibility.
• Exposure to SAP Build (Apps, Process Automation, Code) or SAP Joule / generative AIon BTP.
• Experience with SAP Integration Suite and SAP Event Mesh for event-driven extensions.
• Knowledge of SAP HANA Cloud and CDS modeling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD on BTP (SAP Continuous Integration and Delivery, Git Hub Actions).
• Prior experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, SAP Build Code).
• Experience working for US or European clients in an offshore delivery model.
