Position Summary

The Sales Engineer – Data Center Workforce Solutions serves as the technical subject matter expert supporting the sales organization in developing and delivering workforce solutions for data center clients. This role bridges the gap between customer requirements and staffing delivery by providing industry expertise, workforce planning guidance, solution design, and technical consultation throughout the sales cycle.

The Sales Engineer partners closely with Sales Directors, Recruiting Teams, Operations, and Clients to develop customized staffing strategies that support data center construction, commissioning, deployment, operations, and critical facilities environments.


Essential Responsibilities

Technical Sales Support

  • Partner with Sales Directors and Business Development teams during customer engagements.
  • Participate in discovery meetings to understand customer workforce requirements, project scopes, and operational challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance regarding data center roles, labor categories, staffing structures, and workforce deployment models.
  • Assist in developing staffing solutions aligned with customer timelines and project objectives.

Solution Design

  • Design workforce strategies for:
    • Data Center Technicians I, II, III
    • Critical Facilities Technicians
    • Cable and Fiber Technicians
    • Rack & Stack Teams
    • Commissioning Technicians
    • Site Leads
    • Project Managers
    • Construction Managers
    • Network Engineers
    • Data Center Engineers
  • Create staffing plans for greenfield builds, expansions, migrations, and operational support projects.
  • Develop labor estimates, staffing schedules, and workforce ramp-up plans.

Client Consultation

  • Serve as the workforce and industry expert during customer presentations.
  • Advise clients on labor market conditions, workforce availability, compensation trends, and hiring strategies.
  • Present best practices for workforce planning and project execution.
  • Support RFP, RFQ, and proposal development.

Proposal & Bid Support

  • Assist with preparing:
    • Statements of Work (SOWs)
    • Workforce plans
    • Technical proposals
    • Labor estimates
    • Staffing program designs
  • Review customer requirements and ensure solution accuracy.
  • Collaborate with recruiting and operations teams to validate staffing feasibility.

Industry Expertise

  • Maintain expertise in:
    • Data Center Operations
    • Critical Facilities
    • Data Center Construction
    • Commissioning
    • Structured Cabling
    • Network Infrastructure
    • Hyperscale Data Centers
    • AI Infrastructure Deployments
  • Monitor market trends, labor availability, compensation benchmarks, and emerging technologies.

Internal Collaboration

  • Partner with recruiting teams to align candidate pipelines with customer demand.
  • Support onboarding and workforce deployment planning.
  • Train sales teams on technical workforce offerings and industry trends.
