AI Summary

You will monitor key game metrics, investigate player behavior, and build a deep understanding of game performance across the studio's live titles. Additionally, you will take ownership of the internal game analytics platform, defining KPIs and ensuring data accuracy to support studio-wide decision-making.

About Cinnamon

Cinnamon is the most ambitious independent Roblox studio in the world.

Our games have generated billions of visits. LifeTogether has over 3.7 billion visits. BlockSpin has over 1.1 billion. Bayview has over 600 million.

Built from scratch, owned outright and growing every single day.

No investors. No shortcuts. Just great games.

We're looking for an exceptional Roblox Game Data Analyst who can help us understand exactly how players behave across our live games and take ownership of the analytics platform we use to measure them.

This is a role for someone who is genuinely obsessed with numbers, player behaviour and game performance.

The Role

Your job is to know our games through data.

Retention. Engagement. Session length. CCU. Progression. Monetisation. Churn. Funnels. Cohorts. Feature performance.

You'll monitor our key metrics, investigate changes and build a detailed understanding of how millions of players interact with our games.

If D1 retention changes, we want to know.

If session length drops after an update, we want to know.

If players consistently leave at a particular point in progression, we want to know.

If one group of players behaves completely differently from another, we want to understand why.

You will also take ownership of our internal game analytics platform.

We want one place where the studio can understand the health and performance of our games without digging through multiple systems or manually pulling numbers together.

You'll help decide what should be tracked, how it should be presented and how the platform should evolve as our games grow.

Initially, this platform will be built for Cinnamon.

If it proves successful, useful and scalable, our intention is to develop it into a public-facing product for other Roblox developers and studios.

That means this is not simply an internal reporting role.

You could help shape a new Roblox analytics product from the ground up using real data from games with billions of visits.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor D1, D7 and D30 retention across our live games

  • Track DAU, MAU, CCU, session length and session frequency

  • Analyse new, returning and churned players

  • Analyse player cohorts and behavioural segments

  • Track onboarding, progression and gameplay funnels

  • Identify where players leave or disengage

  • Analyse feature usage and adoption

  • Compare player behaviour before and after updates

  • Track monetisation, conversion and payer behaviour

  • Analyse ARPDAU, ARPPU and other relevant monetisation metrics

  • Analyse game economy and progression data

  • Monitor long-term trends across our games

  • Identify unusual spikes, drops and changes in performance

  • Investigate why key metrics have changed

  • Compare performance across different games, updates and player cohorts

  • Build and maintain dashboards

  • Produce clear reporting on game health and performance

  • Work with large datasets

  • Identify correlations, patterns and anomalies in player behaviour

  • Help the team understand the impact of new features and updates

  • Own the development and ongoing improvement of our internal game analytics platform

  • Define which metrics and KPIs should be visible across each game

  • Build views that make complex game data easy to understand

  • Create a reliable single source of truth for game performance across the studio

  • Work with developers to ensure the correct events and data are being captured

  • Identify gaps in our existing analytics and define what additional tracking is required

  • Maintain consistent metric definitions across the studio

  • Improve how game data is collected, structured and presented over time

  • Help shape the analytics platform with the potential for it to become a public product for the wider Roblox development ecosystem

  • Become the person who knows our game numbers better than anyone else

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience working with game, product or user analytics

  • Strong understanding of retention metrics including D1, D7 and D30

  • Strong understanding of DAU, MAU, CCU, churn and engagement

  • Experience analysing player or user behaviour

  • Strong understanding of cohort analysis, segmentation and funnels

  • Experience building dashboards or analytics platforms

  • Experience defining and maintaining product or game KPIs

  • Experience working with large datasets

  • Strong statistical and analytical thinking

  • Ability to spot patterns and anomalies others may miss

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to investigate ambiguous questions using data

  • Ability to communicate findings clearly

  • Ability to turn complicated data into simple and useful visualisations

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership

Experience working with Roblox analytics is highly desirable.

Experience working on successful live games, free-to-play games or large consumer products is also highly desirable.

Experience with SQL, BI tools, analytics platforms, databases or equivalent data tooling is valuable.

Some technical understanding of data pipelines, event tracking or analytics infrastructure would be particularly useful.

Own the Numbers

We don't want someone who looks at a dashboard once a week.

We want someone who owns the numbers.

Someone who notices when retention changes.

Someone who sees an unusual movement in a graph and immediately wants to understand why.

Someone who can tell us whether an update actually changed player behaviour.

Someone who can separate a meaningful trend from random noise.

Someone who thinks about whether we're even measuring the right things in the first place.

A percentage moving up or down is only the beginning.

We want to understand when it changed, where it changed, which players were affected and what happened around it.

Own the Platform

This role will also own how game data is surfaced internally.

We want to build an analytics platform that becomes part of how Cinnamon operates every day.

It should make it easy to understand the current health of each game, compare performance over time, investigate individual metrics and spot problems quickly.

You'll have significant ownership over what this platform becomes.

That means deciding what belongs on it, how information should be structured, which views different teams need and how the system should improve as we collect more data.

Initially, this platform will be built for Cinnamon.

If it proves successful, useful and scalable, our intention is to develop it into a public-facing product that could be used by other Roblox developers and studios.

That means this is not simply an internal dashboard project.

You could help shape a new analytics product from the ground up, test it against real games at significant scale and influence what it becomes before it reaches a wider audience.

The goal is not to create another dashboard nobody uses.

The goal is to build the place people go when they want to understand what is actually happening inside a Roblox game.

Player Behaviour Matters

Every number represents something a player did.

A retention metric represents someone deciding whether to come back.

A funnel drop represents someone deciding not to continue.

A session ending represents a player choosing to stop playing.

A purchase represents someone deciding that something inside the game was worth paying for.

We want someone who can move between the numbers and the behaviour behind them.

The goal isn't simply to produce reports.

The goal is to understand our games as deeply as possible through the data they generate.

Location and Working Arrangement

We are open to:

  • Permanent employees who are already based in the UK and have the right to work here

  • Remote contractors based anywhere in the world

We do not provide visa sponsorship.

If applying as a contractor, please state your hourly or daily rate, location, time zone and availability in your application.

Why Join Cinnamon?

Most developers spend years working on a game before players ever see the results.

At Cinnamon, you'll see the impact of your work in months.

We move significantly faster than traditional AAA development but that doesn't mean we compromise on quality. We believe Roblox deserves the same ambition, creativity and craftsmanship as any major gaming platform and we hold ourselves to that standard every day.

We've never relied on investors to build Cinnamon.

The studio is funded by the success of the games we've already created. Our products have generated billions of visits and reached millions of players worldwide, allowing us to grow through the success of our own games rather than external funding.

This role also offers something unusual for an analyst.

You won't simply inherit a finished reporting system and maintain it.

You'll help build the platform, define how we measure our games and establish how data is used across the studio.

If the platform proves successful internally, you'll also have the opportunity to help shape it into a public product for the wider Roblox ecosystem.

Our goal is simple: build some of the best games on Roblox.

We're highly selective about who we work with because every individual directly influences the quality of what we create.

If you're excited by the idea of analysing player behaviour at massive scale, building the system used to understand it and knowing the numbers behind games played by millions of people, we'd love to hear from you.

What You Get

  • Remote working

  • Flexible working

  • Company pension for UK permanent employees

  • Direct influence on products and studio direction

  • Significant ownership and responsibility

  • Ownership of our internal game analytics platform

  • Access to large-scale live game data

  • Opportunity to define how a major Roblox studio measures game performance

  • Opportunity to help shape a potential public analytics product for Roblox developers

  • Opportunity to help create the next Roblox hit
