Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic, highly analytical, and collaborative Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between deep financial accounting and advanced data analytics within a fast-paced distribution environment. You will be responsible for managing month-end close processes, driving expense forecasting, and leveraging advanced tech stacks (SQL, Snowflake, Power BI/Qlik) to extract actionable insights from large datasets. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, technical prowess, and a people mentality. If you are a natural problem solver who can translate complex data into clear, strategic options and present them cross-functionally, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting &; Controlling
- Period-End Close: Support and lead month-end and year-end close processes, managing detailed accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Expense & Budget Management: Control, monitor, and manage expenses and budgets
across multiple departments and business entities.
- Forecasting: Develop accurate short- and long-term financial forecasts for departments
and entities, including comprehensive payroll and headcount modeling.
Data Analytics & Strategy
- Advanced Data Manipulation: Query and manipulate massive datasets using SQL and
Snowflake to uncover business trends.
- KPI Development: Conceptualize, calculate, track, and present Key Performance
Indicators (KPIs) tailored to distribution operations and overall company health.
- Strategic Insights: Extract valuable, data-driven conclusions and proactively propose
strategic options to senior leadership to optimize efficiency and profitability.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Communication
- Business Partnering: Act as a strategic partner across various departments. Leverage
strong people skills to build relationships and drive cross-functional alignment.
- High-Level Presentations: Translate complex data and financial metrics into clear,
visually engaging presentations for non-financial stakeholders.
- Agile Problem Solving: Multitask effectively in a dynamic environment, troubleshooting
issues as they arise with a positive, proactive mindset.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience & Background
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Core Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A)
with a foundational background in accounting.
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience working within the distribution, supply
chain, or logistics industry is required.
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel: Expert-level proficiency, including extensive experience with Power
Query and Power Pivot.
- Data Visualization: Hands-on experience building interactive dashboards using Power
BI or Qlik.
- Database & ERP Systems: Strong proficiency in SAP and Snowflake.
- Querying: Ability to write complex, efficient SQL queries to extract and analyze large
datasets independently.
Soft Skills
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a knack for
storytelling through data.
- Interpersonal Skills: A true "people person" who thrives in a collaborative environment
and easily navigates cross-functional team dynamics.
- Adaptability: A highly organized multitasker and natural problem solver who remains

This is a remote position, but you must work Eastern Standard Time (EST) hours.
