Revenue Services Apprentice Program

University of Colorado Medicine (CU Medicine) is the region's largest and most comprehensive multispecialty physician group practice. At our primary and specialty care clinics across the Denver metro area and Front Range, CU Anschutz School of Medicine physicians and advanced practice providers bring the latest medical knowledge and new advancements to the care they provide every day. CU Medicine also provides business operations, revenue cycle and administrative services to support the patients of CU Anschutz School of Medicine providers.

We are seeking 4 highly motivated individuals with a passion for healthcare and interest in medical billing to join our Apprenticeship Program.

This 4-week program offers hands-on training in medical billing and accounts receivable. Participants will work closely with an experienced trainer as well as directly alongside our Accounts Receivable Resolution (ARR) team to gain real-world experience and practical skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Throughout the program, apprentices will receive guided instruction, shadowing opportunities, and exposure to day-to-day AR operations. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a foundation in medical billing and revenue cycle management. Upon successful completion of the program, high-performing participants may be considered for a full-time, permanent position. While placement is not guaranteed, this program is designed to identify candidates who are a strong fit for long-term opportunities with our team.

This job can be performed 100% remotely, and out of state candidates will be considered.

Details:

• The program runs from Sept. 28th  through October 22nd. Candidates must be available and able to work the required schedule M-F with no planned vacations or time off needs. Must be able to work within MST hours as notated below.
  • Week 1: M-F, 40 hour work week
  • Week 2-4: M-TH, 21 hour work week
• 100% remote – all equipment provided my CU Medicine.
• Paid apprenticeship ($19.29 Denver, CO minimum wage).

Program Structure:

• Participants will spend time training in our ARR department and learn how ARR collaborates with the following Revenue Services departments:
  • Registration
  • Coding Services
  • Patient Services
  • Revenue Operations
• Each Apprentice will also complete a comprehensive orientation to the operations of CU Medicine in order to develop foundational skills in revenue cycle management and gain a deeper understanding of academic healthcare, the faculty practice plan, and its related entities.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate will have familiarity working in a medical billing, revenue cycle, or clinic setting with the primary focus on AR follow up and claims resolution.
• Pursuit of a business degree combined with a demonstrated interest in healthcare administration is highly preferred.
• Must display professional verbal and written communication skills.
• High proficiency in MS Office products in required.
• Must demonstrate discretion in handling confidential information.
