This is a remote position.
The Retail Buyer is responsible for selecting and purchasing products for sale within the retail store. Working closely with the Lead Retail Buyer, the role develops and executes purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives while analysing sales and market trends, negotiating supplier terms, maintaining supplier relationships, and managing inventory to ensure optimal stock levels. Responsibilities - Collaborate with the Lead Retail Buyer to develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company objectives. - Analyse sales data and market trends to identify growth opportunities. Use sales and market insights to make informed product stocking decisions. - Negotiate prices and commercial terms with suppliers to secure favourable deals. Manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock availability and minimize waste. - Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Work with suppliers to ensure timely product delivery. - Resolve supplier and vendor-related issues when they arise. Monitor and report on sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends. - Adjust purchasing strategies based on sales performance, inventory data, and market conditions. - Participate in product development and product selection. Ensure selected products meet customer demand. - Ensure product selections align with the company’s brand and image. Stay informed about industry trends and retail buying best practices to support market competitiveness. Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Procurement, Economics, or a related field. - Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in retail buying. Strong analytical skills. - Strong problem-solving abilities. - Excellent negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments. - Strong attention to detail. - Ability to multitask effectively. - Knowledge of retail buying software and systems.
