Description
The Respiratory Therapist – Troubleshooter serves as a clinical resource and problem-solver for patients receiving respiratory therapy services. This role focuses on resolving equipment, therapy, and patient-related issues in a timely and compassionate manner, ensuring continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
Reports to: Regional Director of Respiratory Operations
Job Type: Non-Exempt, Full/Time, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri with on-call responsibilities.
Job Location: is full remote, however must have a Respiratory Therapy license in the state of NY and NJ
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner licensure in applicable states (New York and New Jersey); willingness to obtain cross-licensure (company-sponsored)
- CRT or RRT certification required
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience; home care experience preferred
- Strong DME Equipment knowledge
- Strong troubleshooting and critical clinical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficient in EMR systems and basic PC applications.
- CPR certification required from the Red Cross or The American Heart Association
- Professional society membership is a plus
Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to:
- Respond to patient and caregiver inquiries related to respiratory therapy, equipment, and treatment plans
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with respiratory equipment (e.g., ventilators, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers) remotely
- Troubleshoot enteral Equipment remotely
- Conduct patient assessments and provide education on therapy protocols and equipment usage
- Document all interactions and interventions in the EMR system accurately and promptly
- Support cross-licensure efforts and maintain compliance with state regulations
- Participate on the On-Call As rotation as needed
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of respiratory therapy best practices and equipment
- Triage and troubleshoot calls while in the queue
- Serve as the Encore/Nexus Coordinator for your region by attending weekly Nexus calls to coordinate follow-up calls addressing compliance issues identified by the Encore/Nexus staff
- Obtain compliance reports for HFCWO patients and upload the form to Brightree
- Work on the STOP Report and Non-Compliance Report for open sales
- Evaluate patient experiences to identify opportunities for improving customer satisfaction
- Provide patients and family members with timely and accurate information, taking appropriate corrective actions to ensure complete satisfaction
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with patients and family members
- Schedule follow-up visits in accordance with company policies and standards
- Properly triage field problems following company standards and training policies
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient concerns and take necessary corrective actions
- Maintain a strong knowledge of PromptCare’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and apply them consistently
- Support all Branches with virtual vent follow up visits when required
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, Policies, and SOPs always
- Perform other duties as assigned
