POSITION OVERVIEW
The Research Coordinator drives research activities across Changent by connecting priorities with internal and external research initiatives. This role coordinates research projects, supports research partnerships, and helps to organize activities across Changent so research needs, projects, and findings are visible, connected, and informed by organizational priorities.
Serving as a central point of coordination between internal stakeholders and external research partners, the Research Coordinator brings together research findings, business needs, and strategic priorities. This role supports the synthesis and communication of research insights to inform enterprise-wide decisions about performance and prospects. While communication, coordination, and partnership support are key aspects of the role, the Research Coordinator may contribute to research, evaluation, analysis, synthesis, and written knowledge products based on project needs, workload, and area of expertise.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
35% | Research Planning & Coordination
- Manage the enterprise research agenda by documenting research priorities, tracking activities, and coordinating research efforts across the organization.
- Translate questions, strategic priorities, and emerging issues into structured research topics and scopes of work.
- Coordinate research activities across the organization so that related work is visible and connected.
- Identify areas where research can inform decision-making, planning, and priorities.
- Support prioritization of research activities based on enterprise value and relevance.
30% | Research Partnerships
- Partner with research agencies, evaluators, academic institutions, and consultants.
- Coordinate research activities in support of organizational priorities, timelines, and expectations.
- Support the development of SOWs, RFPs, and partnership agreements.
- Monitor progress of research projects and work with partners to ensure deliverables reflect project goals and organizational needs.
- Serve as a point of coordination between internal stakeholders and external partners.
20% | Synthesis & Translation
- Synthesize research findings from internal and external sources into clear summaries for leadership and strategy discussions.
- Support integration of research outputs into enterprise insight, analytics, and decision-making processes.
- Translate research findings into actionable implications for strategic planning, program development, and organizational learning.
- Support the sharing of research findings across the organization to inform planning and decision-making.
- Support research, evaluation, and analysis activities as needed.
15% | Communication & Engagement
- Share research activities, findings, and implications across the organization.
- Communicate and disseminate research outputs to internal stakeholders.
- Support engagement processes so teams can understand how research connects to their work.
- Contribute to building a culture where research is used to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, education, psychology, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ of experience in research, evaluation, community-based research, program evaluation, or a related field; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience coordinating research projects, research partnerships, or multi-stakeholder research initiatives.
- Ability to translate research findings into clear summaries for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to connect research questions to strategic and operational priorities.
- Strong qualitative and/or mixed-methods research skills.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work across teams and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, maternal-child health, early childhood, education, public health, or human services settings preferred.
- Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, research ethics, and data privacy considerations preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Enterprise Strategy and has no direct reports.
