Medical Support Assistant (Remote)
Sterling Medical is seeking a full-time Remote Medical Support Assistant to provide services for the Helena VA Medical Center.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM (excluding federal holidays)
Important: Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Helena, Montana.
Position Overview
The Medical Support Assistant will provide administrative and scheduling support while delivering exceptional customer service to Veterans, their families, providers, and VA staff.
Key Responsibilities
Support the scheduling and reception team while maintaining high customer service standards.
Coordinate Veteran care with community providers when services are unavailable within the VA.
Process and manage community care consults using HSRM, PPMS, and other applicable systems.
Maintain and update patient demographic and medical information.
Schedule appointments and complete pre- and post-appointment follow-ups.
Respond to phone calls and patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Ensure all patient communications and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.
Qualifications
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Helena, MT.
