Role Overview
The Regional Vice President is a senior executive role with ultimate responsibility for the strategic direction, operational success, and overall profitability of a large geographic region. This individual leads and manages Area Managers and Branch Managers, serving as a key driver of company-wide growth and market expansion. This is a high-impact position that requires a seasoned leader with a strong background in mortgage banking, a talent for executive-level management, and a relentless focus on recruitment and business development.
Essential Duties
Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all assigned branches and area-level teams to ensure regional goals are met.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Area Managers and Branch Managers, providing executive-level guidance and support.
Directly responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and development of a high-performing management team.
Develop and implement a comprehensive regional business plan, including strategic initiatives for business development, market share growth, and P&L management.
Serve as a high-level corporate liaison, working with executives and corporate teams to ensure regional operations are aligned with the company's mission and vision.
Cultivate and maintain key relationships with new and existing partners and community leaders to enhance the company's reputation and presence in the region.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expert-level knowledge of all aspects of mortgage banking, from origination to servicing, and an ability to analyze industry trends.
Strong understanding of national and regional mortgage industry regulations and compliance standards.
Expert knowledge of regional-level financial management.
Executive-level leadership and mentorship skills, with a proven ability to lead and manage multiple layers of management.
Exceptional strategic planning, business development, and market analysis skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve complex business and operational challenges.
Excellent communication and presentation skills for executive-level interaction and public-facing roles.
Ability to manage a large and complex region and a team of Area Managers and Branch Managers.
Ability to lead and execute a high-level recruitment strategy for management-level talent.
Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy and financial responsibility.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
7+ years of experience as a Branch and/or Area Manager or in a similar leadership role is preferred.
Physical & Mental Requirements
This is a primarily sedentary position, involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
The role requires frequent travel within the region to visit branch locations and for community networking and business development activities.
The role requires an exceptional level of mental fortitude, including the ability to manage the financial performance of an entire region, lead and motivate a large and diverse team, and solve complex, high-stakes problems. You must be able to thrive under the constant pressure and stress of meeting regional-level sales and profitability goals.
