About the Role

We are looking for a commercially driven Sales Manager based in India to drive enterprise business development and commercial growth for our digital Ocean Freight SaaS solutions (Rate, Quote, Book).

Our target customers are Mid-to-Enterprise Freight Forwarders. However, to sell a digital solution that transforms how forwarders manage ocean freight, we are specifically looking for a sales professional who comes from the capacity supply side—having worked within Ocean Carriers (Liners) or top-tier NVOCCs.

You are the ideal candidate if you have spent years selling carrier space to freight forwarders, understand their daily procurement struggles, and have a ready-to-tap network of forwarder accounts. Crucially, you should have firsthand experience with digitalization or system implementation projects (e.g., transitioning to new internal pricing or booking systems), allowing you to consultatively guide forwarders into the digital age.


Key Responsibilities

  • SaaS Sales to Freight Forwarders: Drive revenue growth by identifying, prospecting, and acquiring mid-market and enterprise Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs for the Freightos platform.
  • Leverage Existing Network: Monetize your established relationships with Freight Forwarders in India/APAC, gained from your tenure at ocean carriers.
  • Consultative Solution Selling: Lead engagements focused on ocean freight digitalization. Speak the forwarders' language to show how our Rate Management, Quoting, eBooking, and procurement workflow SaaS solves their operational bottlenecks.
  • Digitalization Advocacy: Use your own experience in system rollouts or digitalization initiatives to help forwarders understand the value of automation and change management.
  • Pipeline & Account Management: Manage complex, long-cycle enterprise sales processes. Partner with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding, high product adoption, and account expansion.
  • Market Insights: Provide critical feedback to our Product and Operations teams regarding carrier-forwarder dynamics in the region. Keep the CRM accurately updated.



Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • The "Carrier" Background: Minimum 12+ years of total logistics experience, with at least 5-8 years spent directly working for an Ocean Carrier (Liner) or a major NVOCC in commercial, sales, or trade management roles.
  • Deep Freight Forwarder Network: You must possess an active, extensive network of Mid-to-Enterprise Freight Forwarders in India. They were your clients yesterday; they will be your SaaS buyers tomorrow.
  • Firsthand Digitalization Experience: Proven track record of participating in, leading, or adopting digitalization projects or system implementations (such as internal rate management tools, digital quoting platforms, or eBooking portals) during your career.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Flawless understanding of ocean freight pricing structures, carrier contracts, local charges, FCL/LCL workflows, and exactly how carriers and forwarders collaborate.
  • Proven Sales Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, managing complex B2B sales cycles, and handling consultative solution selling.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to navigate global, cross-cultural environments.
  • Tools: Proficient in CRM systems like Salesforce, Zoho, etc.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience transitioning from traditional ocean freight (Carrier/NVOCC) into a logistics tech or SaaS sales role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
