The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, leading, and developing a high-performing sales team within an assigned geographic district. They must establish business plans, monitor field activity, and ensure compliance while driving sales growth and market share.
Role Overview
An Exeltis Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, coaching, leading, developing and retaining the sales team in an assigned geographic district. The RSM is responsible for ensuring strong and consistent sales performance and strives to exceeds sales goals and expectations and drive accountability amongst the team.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Establishes regional & territorial business plans of action to achieve goals, and effectively allocate; financial, human, and corporate resources within regulatory and ethical guidelines
Dedicates ample time to field work. Field work should focus on reviewing objectives, coaching, and performance management with Sales Representatives in the office setting, assess customer and marketplace needs and trends, and attending national and regional meetings as well as national or regional specialty related congresses.
Consistently executes training programs with the field sales team that ensures that they are viewed by their customers as the top experts.
Support the execution of quarterly goal setting for the Incentive compensation plan for field team in accordance with corporate objectives.
Promptly and proactively addresses development needs of sales representatives.
Closely monitors all field activity and performance with attention towards compliance in all areas
Recruits, hires, and retains top talent
Develops strong collaborative relationships with all members of the district, the sales team, the commercial team, and other internal stakeholders to proactively analyze and address customer needs, market dynamics and trends that support brand and collaboration objectives.
Analyzes sales and customer data to maximize the deployment of all resources throughout the district to support the execution of strategies and tactics.
Will work closely with members of the marketing, sales operations, managed care and trade, and training departments to as valuable resources for continued development of all personnel within the district.
Will enforce compliance of the highest degree when following all Exeltis policies and procedures and when governing the promotion of pharmaceutical products.
Responsible to analyze sales and other relevant market data to formulate strategic plans and execute plans for success
Must understanding of payer environment, reimbursement and challenges within national, regional, and local payer market including government programs, managed health care and evolving health care systems
Must maintain ability to learn and adapt quickly to remain current on healthcare/disease state trends
