The Region Director Sales, Laboratory is a people-first, results-driven leader responsible for driving growth while building a culture rooted in accountability, integrity, and collaboration.

This role leads a team of seven sales professionals and partners closely with peer Regional Sales Directors to deliver against aligned national priorities. Success in this role requires a leader who can balance performance with process discipline, inspire teams through change, and foster strong cross-functional collaboration. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing, compliant, and customer-centric sales organization that consistently delivers value in the acute laboratory space.

Region = Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Idaho.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Culture Building-

  • Establish and sustain a high-performance, values-driven culture grounded in accountability, inclusion, and ethical business practices
  • Lead through clear expectations, consistent coaching, and disciplined performance management
  • Develop and retain top talent through mentorship, succession planning, and individualized development plans
  • Model Cardinal Health’s leadership principles, ensuring adherence to policies, compliance standards, and operational excellence

Growth & Business Ownership-

  • Drive regional growth across laboratory distribution services and product portfolios
  • Own regional strategy, forecasting, and execution to consistently meet or exceed sales targets
  • Leverage data, analytics, and insights to inform business planning and decision-making

Change Leadership-

  • Act as a visible and proactive change leader, translating strategy into actionable plans
  • Lead the team through evolving priorities, ensuring alignment, adoption, and accountability
  • Reinforce a mindset of agility and continuous improvement, helping the team embrace tools, processes, and go-to-market strategies

Collaboration & Barrier Removal-

  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to remove obstacles and accelerate business outcomes
  • Partner across Cardinal Health to align on customer needs, operational execution, and strategic initiatives
  • Influence internal stakeholders to drive mutually beneficial and compliant solutions

Customer & Market Leadership-

  • Develop and maintain executive-level customer relationships, including C-suite stakeholders
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitive dynamics, and regulatory considerations
  • Position Cardinal Health as a trusted advisor and partner in laboratory solutions

Operational Excellence-

  • Ensure disciplined execution of reporting, business reviews, and financial management
  • Maintain compliance with travel policies, credentialing requirements, and company procedures
  • Champion structured processes that improve consistency, scalability, and risk management

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of healthcare sales experience, ideally in distribution and/or laboratory or diagnostic products preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the clinical laboratory market and diagnostic testing landscape (preferred)
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams to exceed sales targets and grow market share
  • Proven ability to lead in a matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • Track record of building high performing, engaged, and accountable teams
  • Strong change management and leadership capabilities in dynamic environments
  • Excellent financial acumen, forecasting, negotiation, and strategic planning skills
  • Executive presence with exceptional communication and presentation abilities
  • Ability to build relationships across all levels, including internal leadership and external C-suite partners
  • Live within the region, near a major airport and can travel 50% domestically, booking travel according to Cardinal Health’s travel policy.  
  • Customer/Vendor credentialing may be required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected.
  • Ability to work remotely from home/field requires a dedicated, quiet, private, distraction free environment with access to high-speed internet. We will provide you with the computer, technology and equipment needed to successfully perform your job. You will be responsible for providing high-speed internet.

Anticipated pay range: $188,000-$225,000 (includes targeted variable incentive pay)

The salary range listed is an estimate. Pay at Cardinal Health is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s geographical location, relevant education, experience and skills and an evaluation of internal pay equity.
