About the Business
Our client is a boutique UK recruitment consultancy founded and run by a recruiter with over 15 years of industry experience, including several years as Director of a larger firm. The business has been operating for nearly four years and has built a strong, loyal client base across multiple sectors including FMCG, food service, finance and property.
The business operates as a high-quality, relationship-led firm, working with approximately 10-12 carefully selected clients at any given time, many of whom are long-standing relationships and market leaders in their sectors. One client alone has seen 300+ placements over 12 years. The focus is always on quality, not volume. Placements are primarily sales professionals, typically field-based, with starting salaries in the £35-40k range and above.
The business has reached a point where there is more opportunity than one person can fully capitalise on. This hire is the first step in building the team, and the Director is looking for a highly capable Resourcer/180 Recruiter to become their right-hand person.
The Details
Location: Remote (South Africa based). Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week (approx. 08:00 - 16:30 SA time). Salary: Competitive ZAR monthly retainer plus commission on placements.
About the Role
This is a pivotal hire for the business. You will be the engine behind the candidate pipeline, handling the full sourcing and qualification stage so the Director can focus on client relationships, offer management and business development.
This model has worked exceptionally well before, with the Director and a previous right-hand person placing 60-70 candidates per year together. The ambition is to add £100-150k in additional revenue through this hire. This role offers a genuine opportunity to grow with the business and, in time, take on client-facing responsibility.
At any given time you will be working across 3-5 live vacancies, covering:
- LinkedIn sourcing: the primary and most critical activity. 85% of placements come through LinkedIn outreach. You must be comfortable with high-volume, targeted LinkedIn searching, messaging and relationship building.
- Candidate identification and initial outreach across multiple platforms
- Screening and qualification calls: assessing candidates against detailed vacancy briefs
- Compiling and presenting shortlists: clear, well-structured candidate summaries
- Candidate communication: keeping candidates informed and warm throughout the process
- Sending job descriptions, managing email correspondence and general recruitment admin
- Coordinating interview schedules and managing candidate logistics
- Video and phone-based candidate interviews: you must be confident and professional in spoken communication
- In time, taking on elements of client liaison for processes already in motion
This is a 180 model initially. The Director manages the client side. You manage the candidate pipeline and hand across when a candidate is ready to present.
How Remote Recruitment Works
Remote Recruitment places South African talent with UK businesses. All candidates are employed as independent contractors through Remote Recruitment, which acts as employer of record. You will be paid monthly in South African Rand. You do not need to be concerned with employment admin, tax or insurance arrangements as that is managed through your independent contractor agreement with Remote Recruitment.
You will be required to install Work Composer, a productivity monitoring tool, on your work device. This is standard across all Remote Recruitment placements and ensures full transparency with the client.
You will be set up with access to the tools and systems you need to operate as a fully integrated member of the team. Communication with the client and candidates will be primarily via email, phone, WhatsApp and Teams or Zoom.
Remote Recruitment conducts regular check-ins with all placed talent throughout the placement to ensure everything is working well on both sides.
The Interview Process
This role will go through Remote Recruitment's standard process:
- Stage 1: Initial 10-minute screening interview as part of a block of first-round interviews with shortlisted candidates
- Stage 2: 20-30 minute in-depth interview with the client
- Trial task: You will be asked to complete a relevant recruitment task between stages to demonstrate your approach

This role is being recruited exclusively by Remote Recruitment. Candidates must be based in South Africa. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis.
